why cant my mind make magical music
fuck you mind you little bitch
you can do it
well in that case I'm really not sure what to say
creating melodies seems to basically come naturally to me, i'm not sure how to explain it
it's either, i hear something in my head and i write it down, or i just make something up on the spot and move notes around until it makes "sense" to my ears
my problem personally is that I hate every single thing i've made in the past year because now i'm aware of the difference between good and bad mixing/mastering and i can't get anything to sound like I want it to

its not so much making melodies as much as like
making a good, memorable melody and building a song from it
like ive never really studied much into chords (ive just p much used some generic major/minor chords with some inversions cuz ez) but i know that to make that melody shine, you need good harmonies
plus my melodies are always cheesy n shit
one day maybe

song composing is a fucking mystery to me
i just like it when the music gives my ears the tinglies :downs:

So this is actually something interesting from my class, although I'm sure the answer is in the book.
As in it's probably an example.
i mean i started off making chiptunes and stuff so it was pretty hard to run into a situation where something would sound "muddy", and once i branched off into other stuff it happened a lot and I couldn't pinpoint the cause
so now, I get that I need to use EQ and stuff so that stuff isn't hogging frequencies or whatever, but i'm not good at it at all and I feel like I haven't made any progress in that department
i recently tried to take that entirely out of the equation by just trying to write stuff where the only instrument is a piano, but I still can't get "this doesn't sound right" out of it, and NOW it's made me aware that I don't understand chord progressions or how to structure songs, the changes sound jarring and i don't know what makes them sound good\
do you know what "font kerning" is? if you don't, don't look it up because you'll notice bad kerning everywhere and it'll ruin your life. that's basically what happened to me

Then store it in a dictionary, displaying the results nicely.

If I get into this position I'm applying to tomorrow, I'll make sure to post Java here a lot for him.
Edited:
Cause it's for a junior java position.

That's why I love it. I'm not talented at anything for the most part, but I like creating things.

i took 3 years of programming in high school
we used java and that's why i don't like programming
i took 3 years of programming in high school

It explains why the people who attended my programming club didn't have much of an interest.
I taught Java. :pudge:
if ur gonna teach programming and want the kids to be interested you teach them python
[sp]jokes aside, assembly is the much more friendly and down-to-earth language[/sp]
Java is just garbage
As much as I am an ideas guy who wants to make a game just looking at all of those nonsensical numbers and letters gives me anxiety

Java is fun because I get to insert piss into other people's android projects
It's weird, cuz Earthbound is my favorite game ever, but I have never been able to get into Final Fantasy for the life of me, even though I know it's functionally and visually the more impressive game.
The first Final Fantasy I ever played was II/IV. It also happened to be the second traditional JRPG I had ever played(with the first being Dragon Quest/Warrior). If you haven't done so already, maybe give one of the older, less flashy titles a shot.
I never got around to trying Earthbound as it was always in stock at Blockbuster. Seeing everything Final Fantasy, Breath Of Fire and the other known SNES JRPGs were always rented out, I took the fact that Earthbound was never rented as a bad sign.

What's the toby fox path?
