One of the worst parts about depression is that you don't feel like your problems really matter because "I don't have cancer/my sister didn't die etc." but honestly it is important, and it sucks that people don't realize it. But you have to also realize that clinical depression requires medications to unfuckup the messed up chemical imbalances in the brain. See a psychologist/psychiatrist and try to get help for it because most people aren't professionals who are equipped to deal with stuff like this.

i agree with everything in this post except for the part where it 'requires' meds
see a professional and they will recommend whether or not you should be taking meds
trust me when i say you don't want to be taking those kind of meds just for the sake of taking them

It's just that most people don't really know what to do when it comes to depressed people seeking help. It's just safer for them to tell you to go see a doctor about it (and it really is safer).
Though I will tell you that most people here actually care about you, even though they may not say it to your face. No one wants you to disappear.

depression can be helped in a lot of different ways
a critical step is being able to bring yourself to take the initiative you need to get help on your own
which is way easier said than done
