Half-life didn't have DLC's, it had expansions. You know, back in the time where you got another entire quality game for your money.
lol your right, i couldn't remember that after getting off work at 6am, also if you don't mind getting it to work, CnC tiberium sun and its xpack are pretty long and they're freeware now and they can be played very well on low power settings
Civ 4 or 5 Maybe a sports management game if you like that
Binding of Isaac Any of the Doom games since they were built to use just a keyboard Battleblock Theatre The Sam and Max games since they are point and clicks The Abe's Odyssee games VVVVVV Desktop Dungeons ( I recommend the GoG version since it's DRM free, it's pretty fun for a quick play) most of these should work alright with just a keyboard and trackpad thing If you happen to like Visual Novels I can also recommend Analogue: A Hate Story and its sequel, Hate Plus. These arent something you'd like if you don't like visual novels though. Long Live The Queen is another good one that's kind of like a VN, but this one is more a simulation and stat building kind of thing.
Grab an emulator, load up some old Mario games, Metroid, Legend of Zelda...
Euro Truck Simulator 2 for maximum road tripping. Can't go wrong with Doom or Doom II, both have gotten me through some long rides with nothing but a shit laptop. Astebreed, Jamestown, and Ikaruga for some good-ass SHMUP action. Astebreed will run on just about anything and still looks fantastic somehow. Audiosurf, Beat Hazard, and Super Hexagon if your laptop's got some music on it. Good way to blow time. I personally can't condone playing platformers with just a keyboard, but VVVVVV plays extremely well on one. Shovel Knight is also fantastic as a platformer but, again, I hate playing platformers with keyboards so that's on you to make that decision. In the same vein, try Super Puzzle Platformer Deluxe. It is legitimately fantastic and I have personally put 12 hours in to it. Retro Game Crunch is a really good mixed bag sort of game that's fun to blow time in. You can never go wrong with Hotline Miami. It would be a bit easier for everyone to help you out if you gave us an idea of what your laptop can do. I based my recommandations off of the assumption that it's a par for the course laptop and you'd be looking for "it can run off of anything."
no matter what i bring with me on a road trip, i always just end up looking out the window enjoy the sights man
When you get to a hotel and you're bored, a good SP game helps
When you get to a hotel and you're bored, a good SP game helps
pfffft sleeping in your car is better
I bet any single player open world game will do, provided you can run it. Skyrim, Just Cause 2, Saints Row , etc.

Wario Land 4. EDIT: on an emulator
Diablo 1 with the HD mod/belzebub it adds high resolution support, most of the gameplay enhancements from Diablo 2 (+ some extras that D2 could use), new classes (necromancer and i forget what else), skills for old classes, and restores all the cut content from Diablo 1 - complete with the cut voice acting and new locations. Playing through the entire game with that would easily last you the entire trip, and if it's your first time it doesn't alter the game drastically enough to recommend not using it for new players. Starcraft 1.
Torchlight
Real life's a singleplayer game. Everyone else is just an AI.
Halo: CE, Half-Life 1 series, Wolfenstein 3D, those sort of things.
Wolfenstein 3D
wolf3d has aged so badly. luckily, some awesome person ported all of wolf3d and spear of destiny to doom! http://forum.zdoom.org/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=31848 works like a charm, and basically means theres no reason to play wolf3d now apart from nostalgia
