Megatron-IDW and Transformers Prime Iteration. I love these takes on the characters. So far are they from the generic bad-guy trope from the 80s. These are what you're supposed to do with tyrannical villians. Transformers Prime's Megatron is definitely one of the best family TV villains to ever appear on television since the show's launch in 2010. Plus he has the best villain laugh I ever heard. Sorry Joker.

It's really hard to get into detail on how IDW Megatron is so great, so here's the wiki(SPOILERS) [url]http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Megatron_(G1)/IDW_Generation_1_continuity[/url] If you're a comic book guy like me, I suggest you get More than Meets the Eye. It's a breath of fresh air from the Marvel and DC routine. Heck get the entire collection that stemmed from 2006 if you can; huge collections have been coming out recently, and can help you bring you up to speed on the new take on Transformers. Heck Optimus Prime himself has some slight changes to the character, but I like it.

The McMannus Brothers. I've always had a fascination with religiously-motivated assassins, and these guys are a prime baddass examples of them. I like that they can always still act goofy and argue over stupid shit sometimes.

The Winchester Brothers from Supernatural. I consider these guys to be the embodiment of manliness, by the way. Badass, goofy, and flawed as hell. But man, the fact that they always fight for each other no matter what happens is kind of inspiring. These guys make me wish I had a brother to go on awesome adventures with.

Elizabeth from Bioshock Infinite. Her journey from being a naive girl trapped in a tower all the way to the very different, mature woman end of the last DLC was just an amazing journey.

Saber from the Fate series. I first watched Fate/Stay Night on a reccomendation from a friend and fell in love with this character. She the fucking [U]King of all Knights[/U], wielder of the miracle that is the hope of all soldiers who lay dying on the battlefield. And at the same time her life is filled with tragedy and regret that carries over to her reborn state as a heroic spirit. Her growth over the course of the series is really heartwarming. And of course, the ending of F/SN makes me cry for hours every time I watch it.

Masane Amaha/The Witchblade. For all the show's flaws, one thing it got right was this character and her relationship with her daughter; imperfect as hell, but it worked for them. Masane was goofy but just full of such love for Rihko. As the Witchblade, she was badass and sexy as hell, but it was the human part of her, the part of her so filled with love for her daughter that pushed her to dive headfirst into battle that made Masane so amazing. I still find the ending of the series to be the truest and purest example of love I have ever seen in any show, ever, period. And for that I literally cry every time I see it.

Ivy Valentine. Yeah, yeah, say whatever the hell you want about her design, but behind her obvious draw, lies a character that actually has some depth with important ties to the overall plot of the Soul Calibur series-her father was the final boss of the first game, after all. I've got a thing for female characters with tragic pasts, and hers is definetley one. Plus when you realize that she sworn herself to celibacy out of fear, suddenly her outfit kinda makes sense: it's her acting out on her repressed desires.

Link from the Legend of Zelda series. Yeah, his character is kinda open to interpretation since he's the player's avatar, but at the same time throughout the games, especially the more recent ones, he's shown to have his own specific personality and character-which is why I'm still a little miffed he lost against Gordon Freeman in that character contest thing some years ago (Seriously, Link actually has a noticeable character and isn't a completely blank slate, how is he not obviously the better "Character"?!) The Zelda series has always been my standard for gaming excellence, and I love exploring these worlds as him. On a more recent note I love playing as him in Hyrule Warriors and wrecking every monster's shit in an instant. Plus it's fun being the guy who every girl seems to have the hots for.
