There was a room in Bioshock which steamed up when you went in it, then when you turned round a splicer had been standing right behind you... was pretty freaky
Oify
Condemned
Penumbra
Team Fortress 2
Fucking Pyros.
meh not many games make me jump.
wii fit
Damnit, beat me: that was the first thing coming to mind when I read this thread.
Bugdom made me jump alot.
Fucking bee hive level jesus christ I never beat that fuck.
Dead Space.
Especially one time when I wasn't really paying attention and I walked onto a slasher playing dead... that made me jump.
doom 3 used to
but after the 2531673517351th zombie to appear behind you, you get over it.
I personally think penumbra is a very scary/makes you jump game. but it didn't have to use shock tactics to do it.
the sims. It's scary!
holy shit! he just ate a sandwich! damn! wasn't expecting that!
F.E.A.R. gives me some bumps, not as worst as Doom 3 though.
Nighmare House: Remake
Where's Waldo screamer. I was 7. I never expected it to be a screamer..
I've been surprised at my count on the games that have made me jump, surprisingly it's low.
I played through F.E.A.R., Bioshock, F.E.A.R. 2, Resident Evil 5, Doom 3(though I think it got me a couple times), and Dead Space all without too much excitement with the exception of play-periods through inebriation.
But what did me originally was AvP2. Those movies gave me the creeps as a kid, the game brought those creeps back. Was great fun though.
Heh. I don't think L4D is scary at all.
I mean, I jumped one time when a boomer was around the corner and right in my face. It wasn't a fear jump, just a surprise, like if someone is about to punch you but doesn't.
yeah i agree its not scary put i jumped when i didnt expect a tank to b right behind me (i regret turning around):P
first time playing doom 3 at 10pm, i was scared shitless
Penumbra
And i want to see what crazy shit is up with that HL1 mod...

Fallout 3, some mutants like Centaurs are fucking creepy, especially when they sneak up to you when you're travelling in the middle of the night. It's also hard to see them at night, so they could be slinging that shit at you and you might not know it. That's why I usually travel during the day.
The Penumbra series don't make me jump.
They break me down and make me cry.
But there was this one time in Black Plague, where I saved my game with an infected just coming in at me. I loaded the game, turned the corner and there's this fucking monster with a flashlight smacking my face in! Goddamn, I shat it horribly.
Any given horror game.
The latest being Penumbra, I jumped at EVERYTHING that looked odd because I was expecting it to be something that wanted to eat me.
DeadSpace at midnight on Halloween, also i played Bioshock at night in a basement.
System Shock 2 and sometimes Dead Space
You can take the fear away by constantly shooting the noisiest most powerful automatic weapon.
I sometimes do that. Except I yell when I run around a corner or something because it is dark and scarry.
Half Life, Water Hazard.
Minesweeper :v:
Tetris
I had to hospital 3 times with broken wrists after falling off my chair
silent hill, fucking turn on my flash light and there like 10 zombies bum rush me
also dead space but after the first 3 chapters I felt that the number of creatures took all the tension out of the game, I would have prefered it if they decreased the number but made them tougher and more spontaneous
I think Dead Space was only scary right at the very start. It was really scary until you get a gun.
When you're seperated without a weapon was the scariest part, at the start. The game is really taken in stride after that.
I tried playing the Bioshock demo, before I knew what it was about. After the plane crashed, I went on the computer and said "hey, What happens after the plane crashes" and my friend said "Oh, Alot of scary looking zombies attack you."
I'm Scared even when thinking about playing it.
Doom 3 had a lot of screamers and whatnot, and they surprised me, but the atmosphere wasn't scary most of the time.
