I feel that this video is relevant to your post.

Figured I'd make a late response to garychencool here, because lord knows I can't go two seconds without making an overlong rebuttal to someone pointing out my blatant stupidity to feebly attempt to justify my complete stupidity, no matter how old their response may be.
I also put my response in the quote (in obnoxious bold letters) both for the sake of my own convenience and in the interest of saving some time for those that don't want to scroll for forever and a day through my insipid, pretentious bullshit.
Define any other normal person and would you say the same to the OP about his raging on fandoms? And to anyone else?
Okay, I don't really see where you're coming from here. I'm not saying "Keep your opinions to yourself", I'm saying "Keep your fetishes to yourself", because most "normal" people don't feel the need to constantly remind other people of what they get off to, and then immediately turn around and say that they are fully deserving of everyone's respect for their fetish or something. I suppose I'm alright with it if they keep that kind of thing on sites or threads that are based around said fetishes, though.
Most of them don't shove anything and for the ones that do, it's your choice for letting it down your throat. If you don't care, show that you don't care. If they are annoying, ignore them. They will eventually stop. Like a kid trying to put a circle in a square on a toy. Also, people say that they are behind the closet when some come out and do their furry thing. Then the people say that they are annoying (furfags). So it's an ironic thing when they are in the closet and at the same time, they are out there in public with their furry stuff.
Don't really see what you're saying with the last bit there, but actually, I do tend to ignore them for the most part nowadays. Hell, I'll only really pay any mind if they start spraying hardcore gay furry rape porn in a Source game or whatever, but that doesn't mean I can't hate them for generally doing stupid shit and being obsessed with spreading their fetish. After all, the thread is supposed to be about fandoms you don't like, regardless of whether you can ignore them or not. And believe me, even if I ignore them, a lot of other people won't, and they'll keep going on about how said people need to respect their right to free speech (as well as their right to apparently completely ignore and defy basic social common sense)
I dunno, i think MLP fandom is worse but it is kinda the same thing. Most are for the art, some for the pron, then there are some that dress up as ponies (cosplay or fursuiting)
I think their general fanbases are pretty much at the same level at this point, but that's just me.
How many people actually know what furry is? Not much, most likely in the family, the teenager that goes on the Internet would know. If not a small portion of the parents. From what I've seen, you don't see a lot of furries on TV. Instead, you see Anime and Goth more.
My point here was that it's a bit harder to say that you like something like, say, Redwall on the internet now (Not in person, this is about posting on the internet) without getting people saying that you secretly want to fuck mice. Although I did definitely over-exaggerate how much of a hard time they would have saying that sort of thing, and how many people would accuse them of being "closet furries". It was just a side-note, though.
A lot in the fandom keep it behind closed doors when a few (so far, i would say 20-30%) go out and be open about it, where 10% make it look like crap. There will always be a percent where the idiots spam BS everywhere, making everyone hate it.
This is my point though: While a lot of fandoms are like this, furries are one of the worst cases of this. If you say to someone on sites like FP or SA that someone is a "Furry", they almost always immediately think that you're referring to them both being sexually attracted to anthropomorphic animals, and being obsessive about it, because the "hardcore" furries are the most outspoken furries by far, and there are a lot of "hardcore" furries out there. So it creates this general mental image that "Furry" is a term that means "Someone who is obsessively sexually aroused by fictional half-human half-animal things".
Also, on reflection, I suppose I worded it wrong earlier when I said "Note that I am talking about the fandom and not the fetish itself", when I should have said "Note that I am talking about the fandom surrounding the fetish, and not the fetish itself". If someone finds anthropomorphic animals neat, then that's cool, they can say all they want about that, but I don't find myself or anyone else ever really refer to them as "furries" unless they're accusing them of being in the closet about being sexually attracted to them. So don't think that I think that everyone who simply likes anthropomorphic animals is also secretly sexually attracted to them as well, because, as much of a generalizing dick I might be, I most certainly don't think that. I'm just shit at wording things.
Look, my convoluted point is that I hate a large part of the furry-fetish fandom (Which in this case means people who openly express that they have the fetish, not the people who have the fetish and keep it behind closed doors) for making the word "furry" entail a disturbing, sexual meaning to a lot people on the internet, instead of just a fascination with the concept of anthropomorphic animals, and even then, there are a lot of people in the fandom that keep the fetish crap in their own respective sites for that sort of thing, but due to the fact that the fandom is so widespread, there's quite a lot of idiots who feel the need to say that they have the fetish and that they should be widely respected for not only having it, but also expressing it loudly to the public, and those are the ones I hate. They make the people who keep quiet about the fetish look like shit and probably feel like shit and make the ones that simply find "furries" to be a neat concept look like even more shit.
In other words, no, I don't hate the entire fandom as my post may have implied, I just hate the large amount of people that make it look terrible. I could say that kind of thing about any fandom, but I figured that the furry fandom is probably the best and most well-known example of this kind of crap.
Don't see how YouTube is a fandom...
That's why I said "I don't know if Youtube is a fandom". I suppose it could count as one as a "Fandom of a video sharing website", but I guess it would be considered more of a community than a fandom. Either way, it's largely pretty shit.
Honestly, I think this thread should have been called "Parts of fandoms that you hate, and why you despise them", because I don't think anyone here truly hates any entire fandom. there's always some decent people in every fanbase, but, due mostly to human nature, most people accentuate the negatives of these fandoms and start to think that they hate the entire fanbase if the fandom is popular enough and generally has more outspoken idiots than it does outspoken decent people, and I'd be even more of an absolute hypocrite if I said that I'm not guilty of this myself. For example, there are a lot of decent people that play games like Call of Duty regularly, but a lot of the time, the only people that choose to communicate openly in multiplayer are loudmouth egotists, therefore making it seem like they are the only kinds of people to play and like the games. I usually hate these parts of fandoms not because of their idiocy, because that I can usually just laugh at, but because they make everyone else in their respective communities look like shit. I know I'm kind of repeating myself here, but I figured I'd restate my point since I'm working under the presumption that nobody really wants to read my incredibly stupid and drawn-out response.
A lot of people tend over-state the intensity of the radical fanboys to try to look tough and a lot of people under-state them to try to gain sympathy and look like a nice guy.
The fact is, there are a lot more shit heads than people let on. But you can't do anything about it so theres not point in doing anything else besides getting momentarily annoyed but then just moving on.
I hate ponies and furries. With a passion. But I don't go to every youtube video I can find to troll Pony lovers and I don't sift through every thread on Facepunch just waiting for the opportunity to make fun of a MLP fan.
But honestly, if someone can tell you are a MLP fan or a furry and you get the piss taken out of you for it, its your own fault.
A few months ago I was like you; I hated Furries (Not bronies because they didn't exist back then.) for one reason that I didn't know back then, but I do now: I didn't understand why they would think like this. A few months later I gave Furryism a chance. And I accepted the fact that I was now and forever will be a furry. This same thing won't happen to you, and I know why: unlike me, your an ignorant, immature, intolerant retard. I hope you enjoy your boring life, because I enjoy mine, and I won't soon change it. I'm done dealing with childish assholes like you.
Well for me, I first saw furries on AOTS in April and I was like wow that looks like fun. So I went into the Furrism thing to see how it's like. So I went onto Google and searched it up and later found the rest of the aspects and how it's always being trolled at. I looked through the trolling. Unlike some people, I wasn't going to let a few trolls make me think that furries do this or that from what they trolled about. Instead, I did some more research and understood every aspect of it (as in not going straight to WikiPedia) and accepted all of this because I was open-minded. I understood this fandom. And I don't think it's worth trolling about.

But shippers aren't known for being logical anyway.
I doubt those guys would sit through the FMA movie let alone the near end of the series.
Everyone.
Even thing(s) that I'm a fan of, I usually try to not associate with the fandom because of how utterly ridiculous and blown out proportion it is.
Honestly, what is wrong with the minds of these people?

I partially agree with you, but listening to Pink Floyd is basically a requirement for your first time getting high.
