I like the MLP fandom a lot because back when I hung around places like ponychan, everyone really did their best to embody that "love and tolerance" motto they had picked up. It was just a really really pleasant place to be. That in itself has nothing really to do with MLP.
I can understand why people get annoyed by bronies shoving the stuff down their throat to the point that they know shit about it, akin to TRLEChippers' experience. I only rated it dumb because I haven't seen that happening anywhere in a long long time, the only people I've seen posting MLP stuff are people who post videos and pictures everywhere, and those are the people who mock the fandom.
I'll still be glad to see someone point me towards some examples of bronies "shoving their pony shit down your throat" here on facepunch. Obviously I don't check out every thread, so I might have just missed all of it.

One example I can remember was I think in the Mapping Pimpage thread. Somebody was giving a brony an explanation on a complicated mapping technique. They replied with an image macro saying [B]"I have no idea what you just said there, so here's a picture of a pony with a bucket on her head."[/B]
Another one is the Team Fortress 2 Emporium and the pony mods of [B]Sparkwire[/B] et al. It started off with a "Pocket Pony" replacement for the Teddy Roosebelt...then rainbow hair for the Scout...then Sparkwire simply posted a picture of a 3D pony, with no relation to TF2 at all. I understand that they put time and effort into these mods but they simply have no place whatsoever in TF2.
Finally, [B]Pnukup's pony nurse ass avatars[/B]. Not everybody on FP has a fetish for scantily clad cartoon horses, so he should learn to keep those pictures in his porn folder. Like I said it's fine if you keep it to yourself and only mention it once in a while, but it's uncomfortable having to look at endless pictures of bloody cartoon donkeys every time I go onto Facepunch.
