I haven't heard of Disney in a while, what are they making now?
Nothing, they're just tearing apart companies George Lucas built.

Nothing much, just canceling starwars 1313
Haven't Disney said there will be no more traditionally animated movies?
I hope a company arrives and brings back the old fashioned animation style, although it's probably not a viable business option since it's so slow an expensive compared to most of todays animation.
Yup, the princess and the frog was the last one.

'Frozen' then 'Big Hero 6', a Marvel movie.

Technically Magneto Optical took the role of Laserdiscs for data storage in 1987 or '88. Last I heard it had capacities up to 9.1gb per cartridge.

Even if that were him, and even if it were acceptable to just blurt something like that, that hair is slightly curly and as a result, brushing it dry wouldn't do anything but frizz it up further.

It's him.
If I remember correctly he has a complete house full of old electronics and lived with some harcore furry or something like that after he asked FP for advice whther to move in with this guy or not and everyone told him not to.

This is a bad HDR. Probably handheld and there are far better pics of the horseshoe bend, often HDR too.

clouds of piss
The exact pic was not the point, the point was that since the place is in a million and one picture there probably are much better ones of it.
Whether you like the post processing style or not wasn't the point either, I just wanted to show that the first one is done badly from a photographers perspective.
It is pretty bad though, overexposed and way too saturated.

What's wrong with it being hand-held? Also that is some terrible HDR.

Holy shit that is awesome. I wish nature was pretty where I lived. The coolest things we got are big hills and some moderately sized rocks.

Here's the separation of China's Chang'e 3 from the third stage of the launch vehicle (skip to 4:00) showing the thrusters firing and then the sun peeking out from behind the lander.
For those who don't know, this is a small lander which will land in Sinus Iridum on the Moon on the 14th and deploy a rover.
We might even get a live video feed of the landing, deployment of the rover and the rover driving about.

This guy uploaded the rest of the launch for those interested http://www.youtube.com/channel/UC2QAAABa4btQi4ZYZttB87Q/videos
In the 5th video you see the rocket's third stage turn around and show the Earth
It's good to know we're doing something in space these days.
A team of Americans, Canadians, and Russians spent a year up in orbit to see the long term effects of living in zero gravity.
NASA is currently on Mars exploring it at the moment.
And now China is taking us back to the Moon where it all began.
Sad, but interesting.

Obviously this is a very old post, but at the Melbourne Museum in the psychology section they have a 'dream simulator' and this EXACT clip is literally the end of the dream (then you hear an alarm clock going off and you 'wake up').
And do you know what? The one time I've been in that dream simulator (you lay down in a little chamber on what is effectively a bed, and pop your head under a monitor with a ring of speakers around your head) I was on fucking LSD. This clip made me feel so many fucking emotions (the version of this clip they use in the dream simulator has a few seconds before it - the guy apprehensively approaches the edge, backs off a little, then walks back up to it; then the clip proceeds as this gif does). I distinctly remember the first thing I thought was, "you are NOT wearing the correct shoes or trousers to be all the way up there!" and then, "oh god, this can't be safe."
Just thought it was neat to see that EXACT video again.
