The technical name is "mammatus clouds", which literally means "breast clouds" (same origin as "mammaries" or "mammal"). So you're hardly the only ones.

Me and my friends whilst listening to Rush used to call him "The Atom" because he was so precise it sounded scientific and made us uncomfortable and we would start making weird noises. He actually decided to learn drumming from the ground up again because he was becoming a robot.

Kinda off-topic and late, but I went on a vacation to New Zealand in 2012, and one of the places I visited was Tiritiri Matangi, an island/bird sanctuary where bird species endemic to NZ are being introduced to repopulate other parts. One of the birds they managed to successfully introduce was the Takahe, and one of the first individuals they brought over was Greg.
When we stepped off the ferry, Greg was there to greet the visitors in his own quietly enthusiastic manner (along with a big green turd). We split up into smaller groups to follow a guide around the island, and Greg started to follow my group. He'd make these whining/clucking noises every once in a while. He wasn't looking or begging for food, and he was never fed by humans, so I'm pretty sure he did that because he genuinely enjoyed human company (of course, people enjoyed his company too). He followed us pretty much all the way through the 3 hour tour but left shortly before we reached our destination.
Sadly, I later learnt that he passed away 2 months after I went there, in August 2012.
This is a picture I took of him when I found him grazing on a grassy hill after the guided tour ended.

Well, it kinda goes both ways. I guess you haven't seen the videos of the the Berkut special riot police beating people in the head while they are down. In the second video you can see the riot police throwing bricks back at the demonstrants. I have even seen a video of police throwing molotov cocktails.

This was originally how Lord of the Rings ended.
It's interesting how unorganized these protesters are against the riot police. I've thought about what it would be like to go up against riot police. If I were them, I'd get together 30 men, equip each one with a stolen shield, a petrol bomb or a couple of other missiles, and a large stick or axe handle, something like that.. I'd wait for the police to come down the street, organized in a shieldwall like they typically due, then they would be met by mobs of protesters. I would tell them all to clear the street at once, and then I would bring my men out, and form a shieldwall 40 meters away from the riot police's wall. This is where I assume they would take up a defencive position, if they charge, we'd lock out shields and it would likely turn into a melee, before this I would likely call a retreat due to their superior armor. But my guess is that they wouldn't know what to do and simply stand there. We'd march up towards the opposing shieldwall, shields interlocked, banging on our shields, the rhythm of our marching and our shield bashing synchronized to cause them to know that we are organized, and a legitimate threat, demoralizing them. If they haven't retreated at this time, I'd stop out shieldwall fifteen meters in from of theirs. Insults would be made, chanting, threats, etc. If all of this doesn't force a retreat, all at once, everyone in their ranks behind the wall of shields would toss all their petrol bombs at once, all of their stones and pipes, into the opposing ranks. I think this would most likely cause a retreat, and might even route members of the opposing wall, due to casualties. If not, I would then call a retreat on my part, knowing that we can just as easily scatter and fly off into the alley ways and equip ourselves for another battle.
These are millennia old tactics that have been used in affect against Vikings and Saxons, and are partially incorporated into riot police training. It would be interesting to see these tactics tried again, for the first time in centuries, against two opposing sides.

Imagine how this video would have turned out if the protesters were equipped and disciplined? You can see just how effective an impenetrable a shieldwall can be against these rabble rousers. This is how groups like the Roman army and Vikings were able to defeat unorganized peasants and barbarians, it's the reason why the battle of Hastings couldn't have been won unless the shieldwall had been broken down in William's false retreat.

This is chilling. That's some impressive organization.

Those tactics work against lightly-armed protesters, but against molotovs and guns is suicide. So far the Kiev protesters haven't fired guns, but I think it's just a matter of time.
More to the point, the protesters are organized in their supply chain. They have organized teams acquiring the things they need (food, gasoline, bottles, rocks, bricks, ice), they have teams "building" armaments (molotovs) and defensive fortifications, and they have organized teams fighting. Since many wars are won by logistics, not strategy, they're doing better than you might think.
Also important is the PR aspect. Black-suited riot police in strict formation using intimidation tactics tend to come off as stormtroopers - bad guys - while disorganized protesters have at least a chance of coming across as heroic rebels, although they have just as much chance of appearing as hoodlums and vandals. Considering the importance of appearances in a rebellion, they might be better off in the long run using less-effective but more sympathetic-looking tactics.
PS: That video was a staged training. While impressive, it doesn't show whether it would actually have worked since the "rioters" followed the script. In actual battle the enemy will *never* do exactly what you think they will.
Edit: Also, the police significantly outnumbered the "rioters" in that video. Their tactics are sound and effective for small riots, but would be ineffective in Kiev unless they can bring in a quarter million riot police.
