Wish I'd saved it before the site disappeared, it was a flash animation with a full cutaway of a glock, you could highlight and hide all the different parts and see how they move
Aha, found it http://eye.swfchan.com/flash.asp?id=81170&n=version16_tgs.swf&w=690&h=461

Their claws look a ton like a housecat's paw except on a much more massive and sturdy scale.

I had a field trip once where we saw one and the researchers showed us different bits and explained how the muscular and circulatory systems worked. By the time we left my head felt like someone was hammering on my temple though due to the smell. (And made this one girl feel hungry for some reason which she should probably have kept to herself, especially since she was already made fun of constantly for being very overweight...)

The smell honestly isn't that bad though, I really don't mind formaldehyde. Dissecting a rabbit a couple weeks dead from myxy who was stored in a freezer honestly smells ten times worse. DR sessions are the best way to top up your anatomy, pity I've not got any more sessions. The real body is an amazingly constructed mess inside, convoluted yet logical, so touching is a great way of learning and it lets you learn relevant positioning, rather than getting a 2d image from a book or powerpoint. It also lets you realise how different it is for different people, rather than thinking all livers are exactly here and such. Man, formaldehyde makes you hungry like nothing else... Have a human in slices. (I believe it's a coloured CT, mostly for show rather than any use) [t]http://i.imgur.com/ym71g.gif[/t]

I went to the "Bodies Revealed" exhibition recently, and they had actual bodies that were sliced both horizontally and vertically and separated out, it was bizarre. It sucks though, I was so excited to take pictures and post them here but there was no photography allowed :c

That Museum is basically dedicated to all things related to medicine, anatomy, life and related art. They also have an extensive library, all free to the public.
I'd highly advise one of the plastinated body shows as well. The one I went to used bodies from Chinese people sentenced to death, but was certainly worth seeing, ethical issues aside.

I'm pretty hardcore like that.
I went to the Body Worlds exhibition end of last year, since it's in this area for a short time. It was pretty bizarre because everything looked so plastic-ish und surreal. But it was super interesting, especially because some of the bodies were prepared like they'd do normal acivities like playing chess or the like. One person was hung up and everything was exposed (like an explosion, dunno how to explain it), and most interesting was a heart were only the arteries were visible (it looked so fragile, totally amazing). Also nice was an compound from a bear (holy shit they're huuuuge), different stages of pregnany and a love making couple.

Before anyone says it, I like that style tumblr gifsets, especially for quotes.
Before anyone says it, I like that style tumblr gifsets, especially for quotes.
they work hella well for quotes because you can see their expression and a bit of their body motion when they're talking. [editline]28th January 2014[/editline] also CHECK THIS SHIT OUt cover for Fahrenheit 451. the spine is matchbook material so the book itself can be burned.
making the burning of a book easier when said books is about how detrimental book burning can be seems kind of silly. It's like if a copy of 1984 came completely censored.

yeah you can see his shadows moving around and shit, especially if you look in the middle
