Despite their age, Macross and Ghost in the shell have some stupidly good animation; and Macross is over 30 years old now.

It's most certainly from GiTS. IIRC it's from the seen where Togusa is pretty much first introduced, down at the range practicing mag dumps with his signature Mateba.
I really like that bit of animation because of the stupid amount of detail. Not only does it show the bullets disappearing from the casings once they're fired, but it also shows the Mateba recocking it's hammer after every shot.

That's trippy. I find the original Mandelbrot set somehow pretty eerie, especially when the picture is huge on a monitor. It makes me uneasy because of that pitch black figure, don't know why :v:
But otherwise that was something that I've always found interesting because you can zoom in for an eternity.
