That's george lucas saying very clearly about a certain someone being killed.
i said it was shitty writing, and george lucas has had plenty of ups and downs as a writer
Solo, who is another Star wars EU badass, shot his jetpack and disabled it. Now, jetpacks aren't exactly like planes or even helo's where they can glide for a few minutes once their engines die; with a jetpack you fall straight outta the fuckin' sky just like Fett did.
No. He did not. He softly hit his jetpack with a polearm. After rewatching the death of jango again, I come to the conclusion that both only got in trouble because of their jetpacks getting damaged. If the Arena-bull didn't trample on his back (you could see sparks fly from the jetpacks turbines), mace windu wouldn't have been able to decapitate him.

Ah yeah. Forgot about vibro-weapons. Alright, his failure was justified. However, it was somewhat pitiful compared to his actual fame and heroic deeds, it's even enough for me. After all, it's sci-fantasy. Would you bother watching it if there was nothing like hero-personalitys at all? or maybe just heros on the jedi-side?
Yeah, as it turns out, jedi aren't worth shit if you're not in sword range. :v:
Especially against mandalorian equipment. Most of them used projectile weapons, miniature rocketlaunchers, flamethrowers or poison-darts. All the good stuff a lightsaber cannot block, heh.
[t]http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/9/9f/Paisley_Abbey_gargoyle_10.jpg[/t] These are on actual churches. On a related note, what most people refer to as gargoyles are actually called grotesques. Gargoyles are essentially decorative water spouts that direct rain water away from the building.
Pretty cool of the church to allow that.

For mandalorians, when they come to an age where they can put on a set of armor they make their own suit out of Mandalorian iron (which can deflect most blaster bolts and lightsabers). But both Boba and Jango cheaped out and made their suits from Durasteel which is useless against lightsabers.

He tracked down the Falcon, sure, but then let Vader do the actual capture for him. Then he got killed by a blind guy. He just looked really fucking cool while he did all that, and had the best action figures. The EU is what elevated him to badass status, then Lucas had to pander to that fanbase in the prequels (only to piss them off because the TotBH origin story that got N-classed because of Ep II was a much better origin story than Ep II).
You are just about the most depressing poster I have ever seen here.
All the glory people attribute to the numerous war machinery in here is far more depressing to me.
All the glory people attribute to the numerous war machinery in here is far more depressing to me.
lol get the stick out of your ass, nobody is glorifying death in here.
All the glory people attribute to the numerous war machinery in here is far more depressing to me.
A German who does't just appreciate engineering? well i'll be damned.
I see his point though. No one appreciates the engineering that went into Auschwitz. But that's probably because piles of corpses aren't as aesthetic as weapons that were commonly crafted for both function and beauty. I mean, look at something like this and tell me it's not cool: [t]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/20907409/photos/military/medieval/murder%20bow.jpg[/t] Turns out that a few centuries ago, things like this were the machine guns of their age. They were terrifying and associated with death and destruction. They could kill scores of people. But, this, coupled with the fact that it is both beautiful and very regal looking, still makes it an artistic piece. It represents the time it was made in well and though we celebrate its engineering it was indeed a medieval weapon of mass-destruction. Perhaps looking at this from the perspective of those who it was used against, they would not celebrate it at all. And if you're country was involved in WWII, I wouldn't be surprised if you found the celebration of German war technology to be offensive either.
All the glory people attribute to the numerous war machinery in here is far more depressing to me.
you must be a lot of fun in real life
Saying you can't appreciate war machinery is like saying you can't appreciate the Pyramids. Sure, probably took hundreds of thousands of slaves to build and probably most of them suffered very badly or died, and the only purpose of it was to honor some king who could've only built it through power gained by war. Sure. You could say that, but it's a very minimal view of it. Pyramids are a world wonder, and how it was created is all history.
thats not the same couple lol. look at the grass and try and find any erosion on the rock.
I'd say the main problem is how the rock is wet on the exact same spots in both images.
thats not the same couple lol. look at the grass and try and find any erosion on the rock.
Yeah im calling BS on the 1963 pic,, looks modern just with filter rape.
