That'll be because it's transparent and is therefore showing the colour behind it. Original post is white, so you can't really see it, but the quote box is blue which shows it up quite clearly.

It's probably just an error someone forgot to fix when they were cutting a few frames out of the gif or something.

Keep in mind that the creator didn't actually want people to see it until it was done.
He also did this trailer for an indie mecha RPG called Out Quest. What comes in rough edges and a lack of smoothing is made up for in fluidity, and no CG was used for this. Well, other than a [I]very[/I] rough grey 3d silhouette of the torso used to keep consistency on the mech's upper body.
