It's most likely a bunch of different artists, I got them all from /hr/.
BnP or UKIP, who's worse?
BNP is so blatantly racist that its support nationwide is basically non-existent. UKIP appeals more to the "I'm not racist, but..." types, of which there are a lot in the UK. The BNP are worse in terms of actual policies that they want and stuff like that, but UKIP is threatening to actually win a fair chunk of the seats, which is very scary to be honest.

During Dr. Manhattan's origin story bit, I believe. Along with Prophecies, also from Koyaanisqatsi.
3D versus bullethells would be so fun to play, wish someone would man up and actually make some, they'd look awesome to watch too.

Just love how much more complex bullet hell patterns get if you move them into a 3d environment.

All those white spots on the photograph? Those are high energy particles (read radiation) striking the film.
A photographer that was recording the bomb blasts had his safety glasses broken and he was in the plane that was following the one with the a-bomb.
He attempted to shield himself from the flash by using his hand and he saw the bones in his hands the second the flash occurred.

Since it was the 30th anniversary of his death a few days ago, here is comedian Tommy Cooper having a heart attack and dying on stage live on TV at Her Majesty's Theatre. The audience kept laughing because they thought it was part of the act, when the producers realised it wasn't, they cut to break.

My mom found a small rune-stone when she was a kid and conveniently enough she grew up to be an archeologist. She went back to the place she found it and took it in for analysis/translation.
Turns out it was a spellstone that was put on a grave to curse whoever disturbed it.
I told her this was some Tutankhamun-tier shit, and she'll soon be bitten by a snake.

Another UKIP election propaganda poster. I'm pretty sure I've heard this line before but instead of "now he lives on a reservation" it was "now he has reservations" which would have been funnier. I accidently posted in this in LMAO pics as well. It fits both threads anyway.
Would you be so kind to share what sort of settings/camera/equipment you used to get this? I really want to get into astrophotography, but I can't seem to get it right.
It was done with quite amatuer and old equipment since I don't have much as far as money goes.
But it was a pentax k30 mounted onto a Meade 6" f8 Newtonian reflector on a Losmandy CG 11 Mount.
There was 50-ish photos taken at 6400 iso at a shutter speed of 30 seconds. In post processing these images were stacked with DeepSkyStacker and touched up in photoshop cs6.
Hope that helps
In many ways, observational astronomy is the antithesis of today's modern culture of spectacular special effects in movies and video games. The true pleasure of observational astronomy comes more from the intellectual appreciation and understanding of what you are observing than from any kind of in-your-face, blow-you-away, natural beauty like the Grand Canyon, or Niagara Falls. There are several really bright objects, such as the Moon and planets, which can, in fact, knock your socks off when you look at them in a telescope. It's just that there aren't many of these crowd pleasers, and most of the rest are very subtle visually. The beauty of these faint objects comes with the realization that actual photons of light have traveled across immense distances to hit the retina in your eye and interact with your brain and consciousness to truly unite all of creation.
