why is the earth moving
Try making it switch frames 30 times a second
Or make it a stereoscopic image, like below. Cross your eyes until a 3rd image appears, it should appear somewhat in 3d.

It doesn't work very well with the moon picture, however.

There's a bulge coming out the side of the armchair. Armchairs like that have space underneath them. A child maybe?

people always try this when i tell them i'm afraid of planets but it doesn't work that way. what really freaks me out is seeing the actual planet for some reason.
thumbnails are fine too which is really weird. if i click on any of those in the last page & see the full size image i'll just shit my pants in fear though.
i'll give you an example of how weird this is: i didn't know google maps had that 3d option where you can tilt the screen & see 3d satellite landscapes and shit. so i did that and thought "hey that's pretty cool" then i just tilted it back to the top down view. i zoomed out thinking i'd expand to the satellite map like it always did.
it flew out of fucking earth & i froze in place for 4 minutes.
this stops me from enjoying any game with a planet (even fucking spore scares the shit out of me) or movies like Gravity (star wars is fine though because the planets look like outdated turd nowadays so it doesn't really do anything to me).

why did people rate me dumb when i'm just explaining it

To me it was always just an extension of my fear of heights, never thought it was a thing of it's own.

are thompsons really that big? i always thought they were a lot smaller
Well take into consideration that a shriveled 108 year old man is holding that, but yea they're decent sized guns and actually pretty heavy compared to guns of a similar nature.
Can't they built some dikes and pump the water back into the ocean?
It's ground water. Common ground water, the soil is just saturated and the vibration temporarily increases pore pressure so the sediments are in susension.
Pumping it off after or possibly during the quake would make the ground even more unstable, pumping creates pathways in the ground, furthers saltwater intrusion from below the sweet water levels and makes the soil sink in.
Plus it's a vicious cycle, once you start pumping you can't really stop.
As a perspective: Germany pays 250million € each year just for pumping out the water of old coal mines in the Ruhrgebiet because it already sank in so much(up to 25m in some areas) that the groundwater would flood the area and destabilize the ground.

Oh so it is only realistic representations of planets that do it?
Damn there goes my plan of dressing up as a planet and following you everywhere.

He said above that clearly-fake planets like those in Spore or (kind-of) in Google Maps still do it to him.
Go live your dream, man, it's all still possible.
I knew one day I would have a use for a planet suit, my ex thought I was stupid for dipping 200 dollars for it [I][B]BUT WHO IS LAUGHING NOW

The lighting in that picture is confusing the hell out of me, the sky looks like it is night but the ground is as bright as if it was sunny.
I'm guessing long exposure making all the light getting reflected from the ground over time make it look brighter. I'm no photo expert so i'm just guessing
ooooor maybe he simply used a graduated filter.

No its long exposure.
