I find Stanelhag's work so inspiring. I'm currently working on a couple of 3D models inspired by his work.
Cheapo $150 80mm refractor w/ motor drive that cost about $30. The camera was by far the most expensive part, a sony A560 that goes for around $750
As far as telescopes go, $150 is on the lower end of the spectrum.
Guess they don't use the same values that regular lenses do then, because 80mm would not be very zoomy.
Guess it's time for some Wayne Barlow images.
First thing's first: I had no clue he helped with Pacific Rim

I can't believe it's fucking 2014 and we still can't have animated desktop backgrounds on our computers without using barely functional and supported third party software, I'd love to have a wallpaper like that.
Even phones have animated and interactive wallpapers now, but desktops, nope.
Vista has DreamScene but for whatever reason it's missing from 7 or 8, so nobody really cares about it anymore

Meeting presidents and queens; just a normal day for the ruler of Abu Dhabi and President of UAE for like, forever.
His father's bio:
âyed bin Sulṭân Âl Nahyân (Arabic: زايد بن سلطان آل نهيان ‎) (1st December 1918 - 2nd November 2004)[1] was the principal driving force behind the formation of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the Emîr (أمير) (Ruler) of Abu Dhabi and first Ra’îs (رئيس) (President) of the United Arab Emirates, a post which he held for over 33 years (1971–2004).
The official date of his birth is unknown though.
[thumb]http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/4/48/Zayed_bin_Al_Nahayan.jpg[/thumb]
It's just insane to think that:
Not long ago, the UAE was a land of desert inhabited by proud and resourceful nomadic Bedouin tribes, fishing villages and date farms. Abu Dhabi consisted of several hundred palm huts (barasti) huts, a few coral buildings and the Ruler's Fort. Situated along the creek, Dubai was a trading hub, providing a safe haven before the Straits of Hormuz and beyond.
In less than a generation, because oil.
And it's gonna flow for about 100 years more in UAE...
I know there's a photo somewhere showing the same strip in the mid 80's or something and there was something like one or two skyscrapers.
Edited: Found it. This was 1989.

.45 ACP is differant than 6.8 spc and the whole mechanism works with the way the stock aligns the barrel to the shoulder to push all recoil directly downwards and backwards, rather than just backwards and upwards. The way it is in that concept piece wouldn't work. Theres also a reason theres not a military on the planet thats currently using the Vector, and probably another reason why Kriss can't figure out how to get the vector to work in 9mm and .40S&W.
Convoluted designs like that are always bad for military use anyways. When a soldier can go weeks or even months without a chance to clean his weapon, complicated designs are bad for said soldier's health. Theres a reason why weapons like the G-11 never made it into production.
