Kinesin (a motor protein) pulling a vesicle along cytoskeletal filament
Proteins are fucking weird. This is ATP synthase, the protein that synthesises ATP, a chemical that drives the vast majority of energetically unfavourable reactions in the biological world. It's a rotor, and it literally spins around and spits out molecules of ATP. This spinning is driven by a gradient in H+ concentration, which is in turn created by a series of reactions that pump protons across a membrane, against the concentration gradient. What does this pumping? More proteins. Proteins are fucking weird.
Weird and cool.
Is that a computer animation or a video filmed using some crazy electron microscope or something? It's so detailed it doesn't look like it's CGI
There are several massive cloud computing projects aimed at simulating proteins for research. They most likely got the data from that and dumped it into a 3D rendering program.
Wasn't this posted before and debunked?
Not that I'm aware of. This protein stuff reminds me of something I heard a while back of a guy who won a $10,000 contest for inventing the smallest engine humanly possible - and he designed it as a molecular level engine. I don't remember anything about it besides that though.

Not only that, but in the past 20 years there have been more km of highways built in China than there are a total of km in the USA. In 1990 there were 250km of expressway in China. It goes to show how much shifting politics/global trends/etc affects stuff like this on a massive scale.

I kind of want to know who they were, want to know their stories.
Want to read about those men? Read "Stranger to Myself" and "Soldiers". "Stranger to Myself" is a biography written by a banker who was drafted to fight on the eastern front and died there. His mother compiled his diary and it was published not too long ago. The authors perspective on the inhumanity of the eastern front is incredibly insightful. Anyone who is interested in WWII needs to read it. "Soldiers/Soldaten" is a factual and analytic look at the conversations of German POW's from all branches. It's based on around 150,000 so pages of covert recordings of conversations held between POW's. It breaks down their conversations on a psychological scale and is a very interesting read on what men think when they're in a position where they Kill and can be Killed. Islamic State fighters besieged a Kurdish city in northern Syria on Thursday after seizing 21 villages in a major assault, prompting a call to arms from Kurds in neighboring Turkey who urged followers to go and help resist the group's advance. The attack on the city of Ayn al-Arab, known as Kobani in Kurdish, came two days after the top U.S. military officer said the Syrian opposition would probably need the help of the Syrian Kurds to defeat Islamic State. About 3,000 men, women and children arrived at the Turkish border roughly 10 km (6 miles) from Kobani but were still waiting on the Syrian side after night fell, a Reuters witness said, as Turkish forces stopped the crowd from crossing. This galaxy is part of a galaxy cluster that has been studied by astronomers exploring an intriguing phenomenon known as weak gravitational lensing. This effect, caused by the uneven distribution of matter (including dark matter) throughout the Universe, has been explored via surveys such as the Hubble Medium Deep Survey. Dark matter is one of the great mysteries in cosmology. It behaves very differently from ordinary matter as it does not emit or absorb light or other forms of electromagnetic energy — hence the term "dark."
