Nah dood big dogs are the best. They're loyal as hell and extremely protective. My dog weighed a 175 pounds at his peak and was the best dog I could have asked for. He was stubborn as hell and refused to leave my side. He outlived his projected lifespan by 6 years; a true testament to how much of a stubborn and loyal dog he was. RIP Spudzkie
Big dogs also have a habit of being so-called gentle giants as well whereas tiny dogs have a bad habit of being overly aggressive. The only aggressive big(ger) dogs I've ever personally seen were ones that were specifically raised to be aggressive while at least half of all small dogs I've met were aggressive little assholes.
I had a traumatic incident as a child involving several large dogs. It may be an irrational fear now, but it's still there none the less.

I nearly had my throat torn out by a large dog when I was 12 or 13. It's not impossible to get over a fear that comes from such an incident. You just have to rationalize it and whenever you start feeling uncomfortable around a dog stop and think it through carefully. (That and learning dog behavior helps since you can better predict how they're likely to act.)

It could be a good idea to meet a Grand Danois (Great Dane) and just be with it a little while.
They are incredibly well mannered, calm and humble big dogs. They are very cuddly also.

They got me over my fear of large dogs.

Just remember that dogs don't necessarily understand that you fear them, so don't make sudden reactions when a (properly trained) dog approaches you. You might end up scaring it.

I didn't see the little girl's head at first, so I thought the head on her body was that of the dog's, and presumed it as bad Photoshop... :v:

Thats understandable. Big dogs tend to be protective and when they get angry they get fierce. With my big dog, we had a terminex guy show up unannounced and my dog was outside at the time. When he got out of his truck and closed the tail gate to it, my dog heard it and came bounding around the house to greet him.
Long story short, we came outside about 5 minutes later, the dood was on top of his truck crying and had thrown almost everything on his person at my dog trying to get him to fuck off.

Well that's fucking only if they only they're brought up right. Just like any other dog.

Our dog gets aggressive if you make her mad or enter a room that you're not normally "supposed" to be in, or if you touch her head a certain way (my sister had to get stitches).

Also, this is a monument to Alexander Suvorov, one of the few generals in history who never lost a battle, being undefeated in over 60 large battles while always having numerical disadvantage. The area around it is owned by Russia, although on Swiss land.
However, in February 1799 Paul summoned him to take the field again, this time against the French Revolutionary armies in Italy.
The campaign opened with a series of Suvorov's victories (Cassano d'Adda, Trebbia, and Novi). French troops were driven from Italy, save for a handful in the Maritime Alps and around Genoa. Suvorov himself gained the rank of "Prince of the House of Savoy" from the King of Sardinia.
But the later events of the eventful year went uniformly against the Russians. General Korsakov's force was defeated by Masséna at Zürich. Betrayed by the Austrians, the old field marshal, seeking to make his way over the Swiss passes to the Upper Rhine, had to retreat to Vorarlberg, where the army, much shattered and almost destitute of horses and artillery, went into winter quarters.

When Suvorov battled his way through the snow-capped Alps his army was checked but never defeated. For this marvel of strategic retreat, unheard of since the time of Hannibal, Suvorov became the fourth Generalissimo of Russia
The Latin reads "To the Loyalty and Bravery of the Swiss", then lists the names of the soldiers killed.
It's a monument to the Swiss Guards who defended the French Royal Family during the French Revolution.
Monuments carved into solid rock is pretty fucking awesome.
