[vid]http://puu.sh/ccwIj.webm[/vid] I recorded some auroras just now. This video is real-time. Pardon the noise, filming at ISO 25600 does that. It is one of the last country-wide operating breweries not being part of a larger brewery group. The company was founded on September 6th, 1888 by five citizens of Flensburg. Today it is still mainly held by the founder families Petersen and Dethleffsen.

Before modern refrigeration, the brewery used to chop blocks of ice from frozen lakes in the winter and bring the blocks back to the brewery to keep their underground storage facilities cool in summer. A satellite in a geostationary orbit would appear as a dot in the same circumstances. The long horizontal streaks are stars trailing across the CCD chip during the exposure, as the telescope’s sidereal drive was switched off. The satellite was traveling northward, which indicates it was ascending in its 14.5 degree inclined orbit at that time. This image was a 60-second exposure.

Lauzerte, which has the title of 'most beautiful village in France' a title only given to 155 towns in France
This kinda seems like a complete misnomer to me. It's not the most beautiful village in France if it's one of over a hundred villages to have that title.
It has been a strange few days here....
Thought you guys might get a kick out of this; my late Grandfather circa 1960's. He was an A-1 Skyraider pilot. "Does a bear shit in the woods?" *winks at the camera*

He have this thing here in Australia called 'wine tours' where you go around to all the vineyards to try and drink wine. Except that the real reason people do it is to feel posh and get hammered. No idea if they exist outside of Australia.

I went on one (not on my own volition, mind you) when I was down in Queenstown last year, though I didn't take any photos. They showed us around their maturation cellar which was a cave in the side of a mountain. It had cobweb-laden wrought iron chandeliers and gates too.
trains
A lot of money and hard as hell to build, but god damn that'd be awesome to see come to life
That would be a super awesome vacation. You just sit on a train and visit all these different parts of the globe. The best part would be you'd see all the scenery from the ground.
the trains coming out of india would be 500% overcapacity and have people on the roof

The link between Moscow and Kiev would probably get destroyed by rebels near the border. Aircraft are a much better option in 2014, especially since they're difficult to sabotage, but Putin's proxy militia proved that wrong.
