I see your point. If all goes well in the present we can count on future generations to celebrate the past.
Well Jackson committed a genocide though, do we really want a guy who did that on our currency?
We at least need to keep Franklin's smug ass face on the c-note.

As right as you are and as evil as it is, it's not like that actually matters to anyone. If the person did something the public perceived as good in their lifetime then they'll be honored for it, regardless of the bad. General Sherman raped his way across the south and burned down Atlanta and he still ended up having a tank named after him because his terror tactics helped coax Southern grunts into desertion.
jackson was a fucking psycho

also that's a terrible excuse for still having the guy who presided over the trail of tears on our money

I think it's a bit funny that I recognized the gif because of the leather he always uses to cover his table when displaying firearms.

Like it or not the man was a War Hero. I'm not saying the Trail of Tears should be overlooked but neither should the fact that he was a Brilliant commander and played a huge role during the war of 1812.
ok i'm going to choose to not like the fact that he directly supervised the slaughter of thousands of Creek indian women and children
[editline]28th October 2014[/editline]
the extent to which you care that he was "war hero" is the extent to which you care about a fairytale of american civilization that doesn't actually exist

I should hope one wouldn't like that fact.

Sounds like something a pinko commie would say.
"it's ok that millions of native americans died because the guy who was partly responsible also did something completely unrelated that benefited (??) me"
For the sig 50x magazines we use this simple black loading-aid thing.

Just pop it on the magazin, slide the roundsclip in and push it down.

Do you squint very intently at the portrait of Jackson when you handle $20 bills?
Get over it, seriously. History sucks, Jackson was a cunt for what he did, but it doesn't matter anymore.

The US uses the same thing. I think Australian soldiers on deployment do as well.

All of them look pretty basic, but the Astronaut one is amazing.

Literally the only thing good about Jackson was winning a single battle that, consequently, had zero impact on the war at large (peace talks were under way at the time of the battle) and his victory was attributed as much to British error as it was his good judgement.

I like how you're actively ignoring my point that the trail of tears shouldn't be overlooked and its obviously not fucking OK. jfc.
Andrew Jackson is my favorite president. I read a book about him for a report back in grade school. He was interesting both as a person and as a president. His policy flip-flopped a lot. I almost wonder if he had some sort of mental disorder.
David Hasselhoff skipped leg day so used a leg double, the man he's with:

Okay, but you clearly don't think that presiding over a genocide is important enough that we should maybe not commemorate and immortalize him on our currency. Jesus Christ, the only way you could apologize for this guy harder would be if he served in your precious fucking Wehrmacht too.

I remember hearing that when the author of the Star Wars novel first started writing, the beginning of episode IV started with a massive space battle, but Lucas made him cut it out because it was out of his budget for the film.

i fucking love the art style all 60's-70's sci-fi has. It feels so warm and always has amazing detail.

Me too. I love Star Wars style Sci-fi because of how imperfect the world is. A lot of high-tech stuff looks like it's held together with duct-tape and hopeful thoughts, and things break easily but are easily fixed. I like how gritty it all is. I really hope Episode VII has a grittier tone.
Anyway, I got a whole album of the stuff if you'd like to take a look at it.
