So, I've noticed something recently. The new Hitman allows you to either buy the whole thing (as it comes out you get it) [I]or[/I] you can buy the first episode for $15. Black Ops 3 allows you to purchase just the multiplayer for $15 and lets you upgrade to the full game for $45 afterwards.
This is something I like. I don't always have $60 to spend on a new game I really want to play, for example right now: I just paid $15 for Hitman. It's actually quite nice being able to drop a small amount on something and play a bit of it, then pay a little more to play more of it, until you finish it or something like that. I'm worried that Hitman's style of "release a game in bits and pieces" might become a trend, though. That's something I don't like, assuming I actually have $60 to spend, but I love the idea that I can spend the smaller amounts of money at a time is really nice for someone like me, who can't really spend $60 every game release. Hell, I hesitate spending $20 on a game unless it's a guaranteed good one. It's why I only own three games on my 3DS at the moment, and those are: Smash Bros (the only one above $10), Cave Story, and the original Legend of Zelda.
tl;dr releasing parts of your game for cheaper is something I like
