UE4 is now free for everyone. Also since I paid for it when it did cost money, I get my most recent payment pro-rated back to me, as well as $30 to spend in the UE4 marketplace. Hellllllllllls yeah!
I'm probably going to be getting the Scott Pilgrim box set for my birthday in a few weeks, which is great, because I've been wanting to read those for a while now.
People are really too nice to me, I got a bunch of gifts today from people I didn't even expect. It makes me really happy and honestly kinda embarrassed that people care enough about me to do such things
Facepunch is super-nice when it comes to birthdays. There is still a bunch of birthday wishes on my profile from when it happened, and that shit gets me really happy. It makes me feel like I'm part of the community even when I (generally) don't post that much. And happy (belated) birthday! [editline]2nd March 2015[/editline] Wow, I just realized you were one of the ones who wished me happy birthday last year. c:
I'm going to a state competition for programming tomorrow.
I got an iPad for my birthday and I'm really enjoying it, this is gonna be really useful when college starts It's nice too cuz I got to play with one during High School cuz they tested out their school issued iPads on my AP Physics class, and I liked using it but it had a horrible built in web filter so I couldn't do much with it, so it's nice to have one that's all to myself [editline]2nd March 2015[/editline]
Facepunch is super-nice when it comes to birthdays. I'm glad I could make you feel happy with that!
I got this wierd-ass Russian game off of GoG called Vangers and it's surreal as fuck, I don't know what's going on, and I don't know what to do, but it's still really fun.
the dude who sits in front of me in history class is the greatest "Mr. Garcia I'm going to run off and join ISIS allahu akbar allahu akbar" "Okay, here's your bombs and your guns, have fun going up against the world's strongest military, good luck." "The world's strongest military is a man's will, Mr. Garcia." teacher cracked up like you wouldn't believe. he says shit like this all the time too, he argues with the teacher over 9/11 being an inside job and spoke for two weeks straight in star wars references
Unreal 4 getting free. It's like, it doesn't really change anything for me since I already get it free as a student, but I'm so happy and excited for the company; how Epic they are and how much they are going to change the industry. Just the idea of never having to look at fugly Unity slender games is like a dream.
Finished my Anthropology essay and emailed it off to my professor, as I may not be in class tomorrow due to shitty weather (I live 50 minutes away and do not want to drive in the middle of a snow storm). My diet is working out really well, I have more energy and focus. Like on Saturday after work instead of playing video games when I got home, I cleaned my room entirely. Dusted, vacuumed, rearranged my shelves, made my bed, and did my laundry all that good stuff. As well, I started getting into a good bedtime routine. Shower at 11:00 PM, get out, shave, brush my teeth, all that jazz. Then lay in bed and read for a half hour or so and then go to sleep. I also just ordered a Blu-Ray copy of the Man With No Name Trilogy (some of my favorite movies). Seriously, there's a lot that's making me happy right now.
The girl I love kissed me
The girl I love kissed me
That one's just about as good as it gets. Well, except for that other thing... That other thing being this bottle of Basil Hayden's that my dad got me today for my 26th birthday. Fuck yessssss. I love being old enough that people start giving me good booze as a gift.
You only got booze now with 26? Ah yes, the us. But it is truly a great feeling and always a neat present. Well, I was actually 6 years together with this girl but today was special.
I got an iPad for my birthday and I'm really enjoying it, this is gonna be really useful when college starts !
A tablet is a godsend in college. Seriously, I've saved over $1000 dollars in expensive engineering textbooks buy getting really cheap but not quite free pdfs of older versions and bringing them to class on my tablet. Changing ten problems at the end of chapter six is not grounds to make me buy a new $250 book on thermodynamics. I doubt it's changed that much in a year. And these days most professors are find with students using tablets in class for their books. Do that if you can.

Once I get my courses scheduled I'll probably use that for my books, I hadn't considered that kinda thing. I was mainly gonna use it for note taking and working on assignments since I can use Word and Powerpoint and basically anything else I'd need on it, so having all of those things will help
Damn, my automerge. [editline]2nd March 2015[/editline]
Thanks for the advice! But yeah, most publishers put out electronic copies of their books. When you first start college, most orientation programs will encourage you to buy through your campus bookstore, which has the worst markups on books. They also will buy back textbooks for horrendously low prices from ignorant freshmen who have purchased books for one quarter and don't keep it. If you can't avoid buying a textbook because its too recent for a publisher to put an ecopyit out there, try looking around where your classes will be. Most former students will put out their own ads for books, and they'll always be cheaper than the campus store or equivalent. Buy from students, and if you have to sell, sell to other students. Sorry if I sound overbearing with all this advice; I just want to help someone avoid making the painful financial mistakes I made as a freshman who didn't know any better.
Had one of these maple bread things from my work again. Oh god they are good.
Feeling really accomplished. In c# I managed to move a box around with the arrow keys and have a collision box whenever it's trying to get out of screen. Maybe in a year, a game is to expected :D

And naw you're fine, I appreciate all the advice! I'll make sure to keep all of this in mind. I got a friend too who's probably gonna sell me a few of his books cuz he doesn't need them anymore, so that'll probably help with the textbooks
I just watched all of Over the Garden Wall. Man if that isn't some feel good shit I don't know what is. I'm all warm and fuzzy.
My boyfriend bought me GTA 5 for steam and it was so unexpected omg.
I'm so excited for my programming competition.
just got the best advice i've ever got in my entire life. I'm having a lot of troubles on my college. It's so different from high school. But this guy told me he has been trough the same and told me about all his expierences. I think i'm finally on the right track. Edit: and oh by the way, I'm gonna catch chickens on a chicken farm for 15 euro/hour this evening. 10/10 dream job.

But i feel that the jump from high school/secondary school to college isn't steep enough. College is very easy, but yet the jump from college to Uni is insane, so much more work to do than usual.
15 euros/hour? Dayum. That's really good.
15 euros/hour? Dayum. That's really good.
It'll most likely only be like a 2 hour job if that.
I dunno about your living conditions (bills etc) but 30 dollar/euro for 2 hours work is pretty sweet
I dunno about your living conditions (bills etc) but 30 dollar/euro for 2 hours work is pretty sweet
Its good if you not need to pay for stuff, but say you only had 2 hours for 3 days a week, thats only 90 euros a week. Not sure if he has a car or anything but that will go very quickly and would need more hours to have a decent income. But if its just pocket money for yourself then that is brilliant!
yeah it's just pocket money. I still live with my parents and the farm is 5 minutes walking away from me. I don't have any bills whatsoever so yeah its good fun running after chickens for 2 and a half hour. especially knowing that most of my friends don't even get half the amount of money a hour. I'll post a picture of me with my chicks when i'm done :v:
So, like, Phantom Pain might have had its release date leaked. September First. I'll still be in my summer holiday by then. May the saving up commence!
