He's a bit of a wimp that is stuck in the whole attitude that "it's only being able to act good that counts, variety isn't that important" that he can't handle hearing people critiquing him for his stagnant and tiring performances of the same voice with the same attitutde and personality put into it.
It's like, sure, dig deep into that voice, but then you better do it fucking well, and well... He really hasn't done anything with the voice except for speaking in a cool sounding way, he hasn't attempted portraying emotions beyond being a energetic badass or calm gentleman with it.
He's also busy actually having a career and getting jobs, which probably just adds to his attitude of "being good enough".
