I like the honorifics as well. Since most people watching subs understand them, I think it makes sense to include them along with all the other stuff that doesnt really translate into english.
This reminds me of the episode of Rurouni Kenshin when Yahiko keeps getting pissed that people are calling him "Yahiko chan", but the sub/dub translated it as "little yahiko." But they only translated it that way for that one episode.

Given that Commie has more line-art detail, no super visible banding and more colour information overall in that comparision I dunno what made you come to this conclusion.
