I wonder how good an anime would look like if the artists/animators could spend all the time and money perfecting every scene in an anime for like 12-24 episodes.

Funnily enough, I had a discussion about Bleach ending due to the anime catching the manga, and now Fairy Tail is taking a hiatus for the same reason, and we figured that for a long-term series like those a monthly or fortnightly airing schedule would mean the anime would never catch up to the manga... if it was also fucking awesome, that'd be a nice bonus.

it's good if not better than kaiji, but the characters are like polar opposites of each other
it also isn't as cool to watch if you don't understand jp mahjong (imo)

what is explained is deeper mahjong theory, and the subbers do their best to explain what the hell is going on, but no amount of explanation can make you understand something like
