This really should go in the religion forum, but it's not like anyone can find it anymore. Also, the subject of God is too broad to make such generalizations like the OP does. I say, religion is a personal thing, and you shouldn't bash people for believing or not believing in something. This also covers calling them stupid because they do. Why are you trying to question such personal beliefs as someone's religion in the first place?

Religion was created so people can control other people, scaring people by saying "Hey, if you don't do this this and this, your going to suffer in hell for eternity, so do this and this and this, and you will be in paradise after death."

I won't say I hate believers (I'm an atheist). But seriously, they can get over their heads sometimes. I've a lot of friends, my girlfriend too who has fallen victim becuase of christianity. They're not allowed to do things because their parents think it's a sin and it's against God, that's what pisses me off about religion. So basicly, people are allowed to believe in what they want, as long as it doesn't affect others in a bad way. Like my friends, they aren't even allowed to dye their hair black because their parents think it's satanic (what the?). Surely a lot of people will of course disagree with me, but this is what I think about religion.

Just live how you want, leave other people alone if you disagree with them. Then you'll be at peace with others. Greatest way to live life. Silence is the golden key of wisdom.
