Ninjas were peasants armed mostly with gardening tools. Spartans had armor, tough training and great weaponry.

I had never heard of this show before I saw the IRA vs Taliban clip on youtube, never took the show seriously since.
It's fun to watch, I admit. But in the end it doesn't take tactics into account, or anything really. It's more of a coin flip than anything else.
Along with the nationalism in the show.
Every single time it was a USA versus (Insert nation) USA always won.
Korean spec ops versus Rangers, Rangers won.
Napolean Bonaparte versus George Washington, George Washington Won.
SWAT versus GSG9 (German equivilant.) Swat won.
KGB Versus CIA, CIA won.
SEAL versus Israeli Commando, SEAL won.

also, the pirate vs knight, pirate won due to superior technology. Pretty much shot the shit out of the knight.
A modern helicopter would pretty much destroy a medieval army. Just watch out for catapults 8which would be ridiculously hard to aim) and arrows /which would little to no damage and also be hard to aim.
a single well placed gun would destroy a midieval army if it could fire enough rounds per minute and had enough ammo. After enough of the army fell the rest would retreat in fear.

Samurai were heavily armored, and the ninja had the element of surprise. They were much more nimble, and in the unlikely scenario that a ninja was sent to kill an oblivious spartan, the ninja would likely win the fight.
