Not a conventional "Boss" but in MWLL these things are damn hard to take down with anything other than another Assault mech. They're practically the end-game of each round. I once 1v1'd one in a Bushwhacker and won though, felt good man.
Even funnier is destroying or crippling one as Battle Armor, typically it's something you can only pull off against inexperienced players but if the terrain favours you and you have a handheld PPC you can distract the fuck outta them while your teammates rip into it

This reminds me Prometheus from Starsiege was a freaking great boss.
Looking through and I didn't see this guy:

That immense feeling of triumph when you finally have the upper hand on the combine, especially if you get the Neighbourhood Watch achievement. Also getting to blast around in the Jalopy running over hunters was fun as fuck
That was a cool section, but it made them feel kinda weak and non-threatening.
Just pop a thing on it and shoot it once with a pistol... The final confrontation in Ep1. made them feel a lot better.

I loved Starsiege (please remake it) But Prometheus didn't ring with me as an epic fight. It felt like an overly complicated herc duel.

The hard part about that fight was actually getting the bomb to stick to one. Damned hunters would shoot them out of mid air on me, making the fight 10X harder than usual.

Never played MWLL, but this was always one of my favorite BattleTech mechs.

Implying I kill Butch unless I'm having a "FUCK IT I DON'T CARE EVERYONE DIES" playthrough.
Ontopic, I can't really think of a boss I've been threatened by. I'm usually more just fucking pissed at them rather than afraid.

It was definitely one of the hardest fights in the game though. If you weren't really careful he could completely destroy you before you could really even damage him. I do think the final battle wasn't really much of a climax though. The vast majority of the game was actually more fun than the Prometheus fight.
It'd be great if they remade it or made a sequel though, Starsiege is the only mech game I've ever thought was actually worth a damn. Apparently no one actually even knows who has the rights to the franchise anymore though.

Dynamix did Starsiege and Tribes. According to Wikipedia, Sierra closed them down though. But Sierra is a part of Activision iirc the recent articles right. It's possible that Activision Blizzard has the rights Earth/Starsiege.
Unless heaven forbid that Starsiege was a part of the Tribes franchise in which case Hi-Rez has it. The first Tribes game was Starsiege:Tribes so I find it hard to determine if Starsiege is part of the Tribes franchise or not.
But away from one fond memory and to another.

Dynamix is gone too. And yeah, that's part of the reason why no one seems to know who has the rights. The fact both Dynamix and Sierra are gone combined with the idea of whether Starsiege and Tribes are two separate IPs or not results in no real information on the subject.

What is that pic even actually from? The platforms shouldn't be 3d and it look like someone just copy+pasted the clouds and moon into the sky.

Apparently it's a modded Super Smash Bros. Brawl stage.

No bullshit QTE or anything. You learn their attacks, dodge them and hit back.
I always loved huge, complicated machines.
I know I'm going to get a lot of flak for saying this, but Skyrim actually had one decent boss fight, the Gaulder brothers.
[t]http://img3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20121003005259/elderscrolls/images/5/58/Forbidden_Legend_-_Gauldurson_Brothers.png[/t]
During the Forbidden Legends quest, you trek to 3 different dungeons around Skyrim, defeating 3 unique enemies and collecting parts of an amulet. To reforge the amulet, you need to kill the 3 ghosts of the 3 zombies you already killed to get the amulet pieces. It's actually pretty fun for Skyrim, but its a shame the rest of the game isn't this cool.

Did you ever play Earthsiege, Starsiege's predecessor? Pretty much every level felt like a fucking bossfight.
Did you ever play Earthsiege, Starsiege's predecessor? Pretty much every level felt like a fucking bossfight.
Unfortunately I haven't. It wasn't until 2006-2007 or so that I learned there was even a predecessor to the game in the first place, let alone having a chance to try it. Seeing as Starsiege has a lot of issues on newer OSes I assumed that Earthsiege would have at least as many issues.
Did you ever play Earthsiege, Starsiege's predecessor? Pretty much every level felt like a fucking bossfight.
I had Earthsiege 2, I never got past the level where you had to salvage some drop pods to go to the moon. A lot of those missions can get tough, especially the base defense missions where you have multiple bases to protect.
It doesn't even install on newer systems, I revisited it a couple times in a virtual machine.
