Apparently it's a modded Super Smash Bros. Brawl stage.
Here's an image of it actually in Yoshi's Island:
Couldn't tell you how many times I killed this boss. Dark Falz from PSO
[thumb]http://img4.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20091124181528/residentevil/es/images/a/a3/Nemesis_render.jpg[/thumb] Even on my third playthrough, he still found ways to show up unexpected.
Back in the day, when I played the original Tomb Raider on PS1, this was some incredibly scary shit for my age. Also, as someone stated before, the Bowser boss in Yoshi's Island has to be my all time favorite. The music, as well as the fact that he gets bigger as he approaches added a sense of incredible tension to the battle.
Such a fun boss, the way they managed to change the setting and have him mimic the other bosses was incredibly creative.
Unfortunately I haven't. It wasn't until 2006-2007 or so that I learned there was even a predecessor to the game in the first place, let alone having a chance to try it. Seeing as Starsiege has a lot of issues on newer OSes I assumed that Earthsiege would have at least as many issues.
Earthsiege 1 is fortunate enough to be playable through DOSBox and has worked absolutely fine without any editing or whatever
I had Earthsiege 2, I never got past the level where you had to salvage some drop pods to go to the moon. A lot of those missions can get tough, especially the base defense missions where you have multiple bases to protect. It doesn't even install on newer systems, I revisited it a couple times in a virtual machine.
For ES2, http://www.sierrahelp.com/Patches-Updates/NewSierraInstallers.html#M I had trouble with the original installer, with this you just point it to the disk and it does it. As for playing, this video helped. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pu_x8cV9f30
[T]http://static.comicvine.com/uploads/original/7/78486/3303572-3652447603-darth.jpg[/T] Darth Vader in Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 1 and 2 was a fun boss. In the second part, he [sp] fucks with your mind close to the end and ends up at your mercy, letting you choose the ending after a riveting boss fight[/sp]
Not my gameplay (this guy's strategy isn't one I'd use either, he relies primarily on overleveling rather than actually countering Magus' barriers), but this just isn't a fight that could be summed up with a picture and some words, and even with the video you still don't get the story buildup that drives you into this fight.
And the final boss of Wolfenstein: The New Order
The giant brain robot from Metal Slug 6 is my favourite in the whole series.

Oh well, you brought me closer than I've been in years.
Okay, i admit that getting to him was more fun, but this was still one of the best bosses in first person gaming.
The entire Scourge in Warcraft 3: Reign of Chaos. I loved the human campaign in Warcraft 3 and Arthas' fall from a paladin to a Death Knight. The "bosses" were rather just enigmatic and interesting NPCs like Kel'Thuzad, Abominations, Mal'ganis et cetera. I found the Scourge to be one of the most interesting game factions I know of right now.
This fellow from RE4.
Doesn't really count as a "boss" in the traditional sense, but few things were more satisfying to me than just ending him. The walk up the tower was really memorable too.
Nightmare-X from Metroid Fusion is my favorite and definitely is high on the toughness scale, just look at that motherfucker
I should make sure this thread stays up and running, so have a boss: Rosh Penin, in Jedi Academy. [t]http://img2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20080429053733/starwars/images/archive/9/90/20080730200730!JKAhs_rosh.png[/T] Rosh is a fucking cunt from the start up and eventually crosses over to the Sith, where you have to defeat him. To defeat him, you kill the reborn brothers and then have to kill him. He's an entertaining asshole.
What about Desann, the purple dinosaur from Jedi Outcast?
Where's the word annoying in the title.
Okay, i admit that getting to him was more fun, but this was still one of the best bosses in first person gaming.
Loved that level. Probably the most memorable video game level of my childhood.
[t]http://ps2media.ign.com/ps2/image/article/588/588747/dynasty-warriors-5-20050217044140458.jpg[/t] "G-General! That's Lu Bu! He's going to kill us all! RUN!" "He's not so -WHAM dead-"
While Ornstein and Smough are also pretty tough, the boss that I found the most challenging in my first playthrough of Dark Souls was the Capra Demon. It's an easy fight when you think about it, since all you really have to do is roll to the right, kill the dogs, then run up the stairs. With a bow in hand the fight ends before it even starts. He's fast, breaks your guard easily, has a long reach in a small area and absolutely chunks your hp. While later bosses may technically be harder, this fucker killed me the most. The first time you fight this guy with a low level character not knowing what to expect you'll probably get one-shotted as soon as you enter the door. Random video of the fight:

Metal Slug bosses. No bullshit QTE or anything. You learn their attacks, dodge them and hit back. I always loved huge, complicated machines.
I don't care hat anyone says, Metal Slug will always have the best sprite art for me.
What about Desann, the purple dinosaur from Jedi Outcast? I found that out near enough inadvertently when I was 5.

He used force lightning on a pillar and accidentally killed himself when I fought him on my Jedi Master difficulty playthrough.
