I just woke up, booted up my computer while I was reading a book, I checked if everything was booted when in all of the sudden I'm greeted with this:

Goddamn bona fide Christmas miracle today, I tell you what.
For months now, me and two friends have been planning a road trip starting the day after Christmas (tomorrow, now). We're gonna go to the capital, I have family up there who we can stay with. We were gonna see the Smithsonian, Air and Space Museum, the Annex, all that stuff. Earlier (midnight, <5 hours ago now) one of us pops out of wherever the fuck she was after being out of contact for two days and says her father pulled a temper tantrum and threatened to pull her college fund if she went.
Fuck.
So me and the guy still in are upset, of course. Aside from our trip being messed up a [i]day before[/i] (cycling driving schedules on a 18 hour trip is too risky with 2 people, goddamnit), threatening one's child with the destruction of their future and dreams is an abhorrent thing to do. There was nothing we could do though.
I told an old friend of mine what happened (very old, we go back to the goddamn third grade), and he listened and sympathized, but reassured me, "maybe a Christmas miracle will happen". I laughed and bid him goodnight.
Not ten damn minutes later, a girl I knew from high school messages me. We hadn't seen each other in nearly a year, but she had randomly pinged me the day before to chat, mentioning she was in town. Today, she pops in and asks what's up, so I tell her. She listens, and adds her two-cents about how other girl's father's behavior seems uncharacteristic, then asks me if I know anything about Priceline.com. Turns out she was looking to get out of town for a week or so because she was sick of the old people in Florida. :v:
Last minute our trip gets tripped up only to be saved by one helluva cute girl. Hey, considering she went out of [i]her[/i] way to message [i]me[/i]... Maybe I even have a chance. :v:
