Any time I get new specimens I am happy.
Me and my brother found a dead bear today, which means I got some free bear claws (they are normally $10-20 a piece). Sadly coyotes had already carried off all but one leg and the skull was not salvageable. The claws will be cleaned and used for biology outreach classes.

I also won two alligator heads today in an auction; up till now I did not have any crocodilian specimens that I could pass around during classes.

I've got one of those heads too.

Not willing to do anything the whole day, when a friend suggests a movie and I laugh a LOT at it and it makes me feel better.

If only I had a better mic, I could make a multitrack.

It's a French romance, but I laughed and giggled a lot because it's awesome.

Me and my boss made a really quick video on Friday night, and it's the first time I've actually seen what I look like doing my job(cocktail bartender), and it's absolutely made my week. I look confident and completely in control. We did the video in about 25 minutes too, considering how usually things like it would take at least an hour or two

That looks awesome, you definitely look elegant and professional. Was is hard getting into bar tending? I've wanted to get a bar tending job for a long time but I feel like I don't know enough about alcohol/drinks.
So I got Windows 8.1. Main reason was that it boasted a start button, and indeed, there is a start button.
I quite like it, it's small and out of the way and it looks great compared to every start button before it.
When I click it however, this does not bring up the old start menu, rather just the metro start menu.
However, I'm determined to not let this get in the way. Turns out now, or at least, I believe that was implemented now, that I can boot windows 8 into desktop mode. I also can disable the features that hover up when you go to certain sides of the screen with your mouse.
And, Windows 8's start menu now has more customization. I can now categorize my groups, and use my desktop wallpaper for the start menu. I'm determined to turn this into a positive, rather than a negative, and here's what I've done with it so far:

I'm actually really liking this. I now basically have a desktop like from before, although it boots faster. The start menu might be fullscreen, but it's less ugly than before, and I can put an absolute shit ton of icons on it. I can put my whole damn Steam library on here if I want.
This is actually pretty good now.
The only protest I have is that, start menu icons, as you can see, have varying colors. Before, you couldn't pick any colors and it just defaulted to your accent colors, I believe. Now, what's seemingly random is actually based off of the icon's background colors. Apparently, anyway. You can't change it either, so your start menu looks like a vomit rainbow. It sucks. I wish I could have them all be one color, of my choosing.
I looked around a bit, and there is one method of changing them, but it seems complicated and only done on an individual basis, and all kinds of other stupid shit that should've just been changable to the layman.

I learn the basics on the job, then taught myself a lot outside of work. Been taking it seriously for about a year and a half. Just find yourself a cool bar, go in as a bar back or a waiter, and ask lots of questions. If you're lucky, you'll have someone who'll take you under their wing and teach you plenty. It's a weird job. Some days I come home and never want to go back, but some nights I'm basically getting paid to hang out, or even have a night out if the vibe of the room fits me
