• Why do some people write mm/dd/yy instead of dd/mm/yy?!
Most Americans say the date like "September the 11th, 2001," not "The 11th of September, 2001." Therefore, mm/dd/yyyy makes more sense.
...Nice job referencing 9/11. I usually say it as September 11, 2001.
...Nice job referencing 9/11. I usually say it as September 11, 2001 without "the" or "th".
Well excuse me for being grammatically correct.
Am I the only one that thinks this doesn't matter at all? Its telling the same thing.
Do you say 6th December, 2010? No, you say December 6th 2010. Technically you could say 6th of December, 2010 but that's not conversationally more fluent.
My birthdate yay! :) On-topic: I gotta agree with this, 6th december just sounds more right, why month first as mentioned, 6th december 2010 that's how we say it in danish as well. dd/mm/yy. Might as well include a rant on when the heck US will convert to metric measurements and stop using imperial as they're basically the only country left who uses imperial measurements with yards, inches, miles etc. confuses the fuck of the rest of the world.
hey man, come to the UK, we use both! and if you haven't grown up here good fucking luck trying to work out which system to use depending on what you're measuring!
It makes just as much sense as the Imperial measuring system, Fahrenheit and Stone. Silly americans.
Different countries have different methods of doing things. That's that.
I'm American and all my teachers think I'm retarded when I write my dates like that. [editline]6th December 2010[/editline] Do people in Europe like American Cheese?
American Cheese
learn something new every day [editline]6th December 2010[/editline]
It's a format. Why do use the subject before the verb in Spanish?
english too
I like cheddar, i remember it's american cheese. Was it? I dunno. I rarely eat cheese anyways, it's sort of disgusting. I have no qualms as long as it's distinguishable. For example, 6/6/2010 could be either one, while 30/6/2010 can only be the European date style.

I admit my mistakes.

These arguments are pretty childish imo. Everyone's different and judging a country because of this is just dumb. (no I'm not American)
Please tell me this is not a joke because it is so hilariously ironic.
It was a joke, It's only 51% when the republicans are in power is what I was getting at. I was trying to say that there is a large amount of people in America who cause an annoyance to more intelligent people but I was tired and not thinking right so it came out wrong.
Please stop justifying yourself. You're only making yourself look more foolish.
