If I have stuff in dual audio I'll often put the dub on and have it going in the background. If I'm eating dinner I'll put on a dub as well. I just can't get in to the whole reading/watching/eating all at the same time deal.

samurai champloo had two weird ass episodes that were just completely out there although one was just fuckin straight up bizarre and the other was just amusing/funny
it was a very enjoyable series i am glad i rewatched it

Not all shows have to have "plot". Heck a lot of anime I watch are just something fun with little story behind it.
pretty sure flcl has a plot, and I enjoyed the fuck out of the 6 episodes that it did air. I saw every single one of them on toonami back in 2000-2001 I think

Um no, it's incredibly easy to understand what FLCL is about. It's probably like on the level of "baby's first understanding what the story is about."
