Same mindset as my friend irl, who refuses to watch shows until they're done airing. I can understand wanting to watch stuff back to back though. It helps to have people to discuss the shows with if it's airing, and it gets easier to wait the more you watch at the same time. I find it easier since it's a little more casual and scheduled. This way I can be watching over ten shows at once and not feel like it's too much. Only finished show I'm watching right now is Gankutsuou.

You get something to look forward to every week.
You get to discuss it with other people who are also watching it.

To each his own, I guess. I don't really know many people who watch anime, let alone people who watch the same stuff I do. Besides, I prefer watching stuff on my own pace and if that means I get excited and watch everything in a short time-span but there's still stuff to watch, it's kinda annoying.
