Whilst I get the idea behind it, wouldn't that just make the top manga "Best mangas if we exclude all the ones I really loved and were better than the shitty anime adaption".

It doesn't really become a top list, but a top list because these and these limitations.

For example I know a lot of people like the VN for Umineko no Naku Koro Ni. But the anime was completely shit. If we had a top VN category as well with those rules (no we're not going to have that), then that would be excluded from the list, despite being much better according to most people.

Okay then that changes my original question to this: can we vote for webcomic-type serials? Now here me out here, I don't mean all webcomics like Penny Arcade and stuff like that. In Korea there's a site called [url=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Naver]Naver[/url], and basically what it does is literally everything. There is a section on this site devoted to publishing and reading manhwa online. Among them are more traditional page formatted comics, but a lot of people adopt the strip format that webcomics use a lot. You are basically getting an entire manga chapter in one long strip. [url=http://www.batoto.net/read/_/59144/special-martial-arts-extreme-hell-private-high-school_ch1_by_easy-going-scans]Here's an example of one that I'm talking about.[/url]

You're supposed to recommend it for the same reasons you liked it. Sure, TWGOK has some romance but it would probably feel very awkward if it hung out with Toradora and Clannad and the likes. It's like going to the cinema for the popcorn. Yeah, it's there but you're probably going there for the wrong reasons.
It would probably feel a lot more comfortable with some his other homies like, say, Nichijou or Seitokai Yakuindomo.
