the MC in the first devil survivor was your typical "caring/nice teenager anime protagonist" for the most part anyway.
Speaking of which, I really wish I could complete the game, but there was one boss that could pretty much cripple your party from anywhere on the map so I quit and just looked up the endings. Some pretty heavy shit going on in some of the endings.

Stayed up all night watching and finishing Tokyo Magnitude 8.0.
[sp]Sad ending. Not Grave of the Fireflies sad, but I got the tight throat thing, so that at least makes it my second saddest anime related thing. Yuuki being dead all along (from after a certain point to be more accurate) wasn't something I saw coming, until he started mysteriously disappearing in the school (and when she saw him moving behind the curtain, that was the first thing that made me think something was up, just the way it was put) and then it was glaringly obvious. Looking back there were plenty of signs. I thought he'd just left his backpack, but I hadn't noted that he was wearing it when he got on the truck. If I'd seen that, then I would have seen the bag being left behind as a sure sign. I didn't though, so I didn't think much of it.
Don't think his death was done all that well though. I'd figured it out, and it went on for a bit with her chasing him. I suppose it was done like that to show her coming to terms with it though, so I can excuse how drawn out it was. Still felt off though, despite that excuse I've given it.[/sp]
Overall, probably 8/10. Might have been a 9/10 if [sp]Yuuki's death had hit me harder than it did. I was somewhat underwhelmed, and so disappointed.[/sp]

Oh, and I have to mention that entire sequence with[sp]Madoka purifying the soul gems of the past magical girls was fucking brilliant[/sp]

It's easy to say that in retrospect, but hardly anyone predicted it before its airing, even given six additional weeks of contemplation.
Surely that is a better indication of whether or not it was, as you say, predictable.

It makes little sense for someone to call something predictable if they were not able to predict it
Alright, I finished Madoka Magica.
I hate to jump on the hype train (which left the station at the end of Spring 2011), but that show is fucking fantastic. The entire reveal with [sp]Homera being a time traveler attempting to fix the mistake Madoka makes[/sp] was pretty awesome, and I really liked it when she [sp]pulls hundreds of RPGs, C4 charges, and shit from her arm thing to attempt to defeat that last glasterspslot or whatever the fuck it was called[/sp].
Also, the entire subtle futuristic setting was neat, as well as the music. I didn't really see any flaws with it, honestly. They also handled the entire [sp]time travel/alternate timelines[/sp] thing very nicely and in a concise manner, unlike [sp]Endless Eight (From Haruhi)[/sp]
