Those are all really great songs to sing along to, but I really think we should get someone who is willing to work with the audio first. That way we at least have the framework in place. It'd suck if we got to recording, and then it turns out no one is willing or is good at mastering audio and then all that effort is gone to waste [sub]*coughFAVNcough*[/sub]

Hell yeah, and it's not even a hard song to sing along to. Although a thing that bothers me about this is that it's the full version (or at least more closer to the full version than the TV edit). I really doubt people will want to attempt to sing along to a song for 5 minutes straight. I'd suggest limiting most of the suggestions to TV edit versions unless you really really want to sing the full song.

if you give me 2-4 weeks to work my way up to audio editing and all that jazz i'd probs be willing to do it

I can, if we have someone who is good with audacity/etc it should be pretty easy. I have a pretty high quality mic too. Though my voice is pretty low so singing high would be impossible for me.

Yeah it shouldn't take much advanced editing, just equalizing and mastering the audio some.

Well here, let me break it up into parts.
1. Get an audio guy.
2. Do an official nomination on what songs the thread wants to perform and whether we want a deadline or not.
3. The thread-folk who want to sing the chosen song send in their lyrics to the head audio guy.
4. Audio guy goes through the raw material and edits and times it to an instrumental version of the song.
5. Mux the audio with a video and upload to youtube.
6. Bask in the embarrassment and glory of having done something fun (I hope you had fun doing it, if not what the fuck man).
It looks a lot more manageable now, doesn't it? I think we can do it.
To go into a bit more depth on some of those points,
I don't know how exactly we should handle the second point. I mean, I know to the point where it wouldn't be a complete disaster. So far I think there's two big choices we can make: figure out all the songs we want to sing and then just put all of them out for everyone to do whichever at their own pace, OR, choose a few introductory songs and implement a deadline on them. After the deadline is up or close to finished, we open up to allow discussion on what songs we want to sing. Once we choose again, we start the process over again until we get enough finished songs for whatever. Which do you guys think is better? I'm personally in favor of the latter.
