We really don't. For big things like Pixar/Dreamworks films, or Ghibli dubs, they usually get already known actors to do voice roles, and for general dubs from groups like Funimation, it's a small group of voice actors doing every single thing.
Whereas voice acting in Japan has grown to the point where it can actually be a profitable profression, there is very little incentive to try to live off of voice acting here, leading to a small pool of people who are often less than ideal, but the only ones available.
I guess it makes sense due to how much anime actually comes out over there.
Holy shit, I just finished Steins;Gate. That was fucking amazing.
[editline]27th September 2012[/editline]
That makes the animes I've watched so far at Cowboy Bebop, Madoka Magica, and Steins;Gate. What should I watch next?
Baccano!
Gurren Lagann
usagi drop...
Ano hi Mita

Is that really part of the anime? If so then it just skyrocketed to what I'm watching next.
Nevermind got to :43, but whatever it's still gonna be one of the next ones I'm watching

It's also because the USA already has pretty much all the media in its mother tongue, and the few media from other non-english speaking countries comes pretty much always subtitled unless it's movies for kids, cartoons or stuff like that.
The "subtitling foreign movies" thing is very common in other countries, but in countries like Spain EVERYTHING is dubbed (Except for some videogames because most of the time they don't bother), there's a huge industry of professional voice actors and even some of them are really well known (But usually it's because they also act in television shows). So I assume the situation is very similar in Japan, though I have no idea how similar.
so nakaimo ended, and the sister turned out to be the obvious choice that everyone should've seen coming. But I did enjoy the series simply for the fact that I interpreted everything as satire, even though it's pretty obvious that it's serious at this point(nsfw). If it wasn't for the unintentional humor I probably would've had to rate it somewhere around a 1.5/10. I had to actually stop and pause the final episode because I was laughing too hard at how ridiculously stupid it was. So when I got to this part of the episode I knew I had to raise it up to a 2/10 or it wouldn't be sufficient.
best worst anime 2012.
Finale of Binbougami Ga! did not disappoint me.

Finished the second season of Higurashi no Naku Koro ni. That was a hell of a wild ride. Everything was really well documented and explained in the end and there's a nice fitting conclusion. 9.5/10, better than s1.
Gotta rush through s&w2 and ttgl before the new shows begin now
Do you guys have Waifus?

About Evangelion, I started thinking that what would it be like if you had Asuka's voice as your car alarm?

The same.
Did anyone ever post a way to optimize their usage of the K-lite codec pack? I had to reinstall it because I screwed something up and when I watch anime it feels like the video is more blurry.

I've tried a few solutions. Nothing really works works. It's more up to the encoder than your codecs.
When you try out all those optimized settings you end up sacrificing options, or it ends up playing that one format really well, then there is this other format that just kneels.
Picking the "Playback Essentials" preset during installation is all you really need. Then add a Sharpen Complex shader to sharpen up the video.
NakaImo had a generic terribad harem ending.
It had a chance to be unique, but it crashed and burned after the first episode.
6/10 wouldnt wacth agin

Yeah. I like the background story but it was obvious who the sister was. I rather it been more of a mystery.
After watching some G Gundam after a long time it is pretty impressive what a long way dubs have come since the 90's.
