So voting is over, and these are the results. We've decided to go with the top four results, them being the Danshi Koukousei no Nichijou ending, Joshiraku ending, Dango Daikazoku, and the NGE opening. Please PM either dgg or me with an email that you use for dropbox to get an invite to the karaoke dropbox which contains all the songs and lyrics. If you don't have dropbox, I'll be making a further post with external links + some additional stuff later on. Let's strive to make this a thing of terrible beauty, everyone. [editline]f[/editline] By the way, we have decided on TV-size for Joshiraku and Dango Daikazoku, and the full version for Danshi and NGE.
Okay so here's we'll be doing this. First of all, you'll need a voice recording software. Audacity is a pretty easy to use program for this. If you need help figuring out how to work it, just ask the thread. A few words of advice, don't try to cut out any blank spaces unless they're obscenely long. They provide a nice break in / out for editing + good material for subtraction. Also unless you know what you're doing, don't try to make the audio sound better. I mean, if you know all the stuff about noise canceling and whatnot, go right ahead and make the editing job easier, but there's no pressure on you doing so. Basically what your guys's job is, just record your lyrics. Name the file something like "Song Name - Username". .wav format is preferred, don't send us the .aud file unless you did something really clever with song tracks and whatever. For those of you in the dropbox, there is a handy folder where you can just drop the file in easy. If you don't have dropbox, you can PM either dgg or me your file. Some tips on the actual singing process. * Try not to introduce other noise sources when you record. Don't be bumping into things while singing, turn off the A/C, that kind of stuff. If possible, try to control your breathing. Hearing mouth breathing in a song is very undesirable. On that note, try not to overload your mic singing. It's better to have the incoming audio be quiet than it is for it to be too loud and damage the recorded audio irreparably. If you want to sing a very enthusiastic part of the song, try lowering the input so that the sound file doesn't blow up. (Here's how you can spot common audio mistakes: the audio might pop where it gets tinny because you breathed into the mic or whatever. This looks like a jag in the waveform. Overloading your mic causes the waveform to extend past the viewing area, which means you sang too loud that it wasn't recorded properly.) * Don't send us anything stupidly bad. At least take the time to sing through it comprehensively. This may take you a couple go's through the song to figure out the lyrics. Try to keep in time with the lyrics on the actual song. It's incredibly obvious when someone is a half-second off. It doesn't have to be the epitome of perfection, but please at least make it seem like you tried. * Maintain the key of the song. If you can't, you can always try to drop an octave in your voice. If you need further help, ask in the thread. I'll leave you guys with that for the time being. If I remember anything else I'll edit this post and quote it in a new post.
Is there a deadline?
Is there a deadline?
I think I'll keep this pretty loose for the first time around. I feel that maybe a soft deadline of 1-2 weeks should be good, and if people need more time we can extend that.

I recommend putting the song in your audio recording program and play it from there. Then you can see the audio wave which shows when they start and stop singing. Having just tried to sing the start of Daily Lives ED i found it impossible to sync with when he started saying "kokoro" since it comes abruptly without any noise before he says it. They take a lot of beat pauses which catches you off-guard.
Fast Anime intellectual discussion
why was I never in this
Why don't we have any girl members? We are a nice bunch of guys who are respectful to the other inferior gender.
I don't take it this is normal? :v: [t]http://img1.uploadscreenshot.com/images/orig/9/27205310096-orig.png[/t] Yes, English is still the preferred language for websites.
I don't have a mic, so no participation from me. I wanna hear everyone else sing these songs, though  I sing the song nonchalantly during random intervals of the day(Danshi ED), sometimes with my brother, and with my little sister. It's just that kind of song that feels HAPPY AS HELL. Which is good. Like the Yoshi's Story OP.
Why don't we have any girl members? We are a nice bunch of guys who are respectful to the other inferior gender.
We'd probably have one or two girls in the thread but we have this rather large collection of creeps that kinda prevent that
We'd probably have one or two girls in the thread but we have this rather large collection of creeps that kinda prevent that
WHAT? We have creeps? I don't believe it. Maybe Nomad but that is about it.
I dunno, we have a couple others too this one guy in particular I can recall said "every loli is my waifu".
Fast Anime intellectual discussion
It's so bad that it's good
I dunno, we have a couple others too this one guy in particular I can recall said "every loli is my waifu".
Wow...he sounds like the kind of creep I can get along with.
I think there was a girl with the username "Sabrina" in here at some point. if she was a girl, i just thought she was lol
Is there room to screw around in silent parts of the songs?
Why don't we have any girl members? We are a nice bunch of guys who are respectful to the other inferior gender.
At one point we had one, Binary's sister. But we scared her off. :v:
Is there room to screw around in silent parts of the songs?
i don't think they'd care, dgg would just cut it out probably
I been posting here for a few months now and you guys don't seem creepy at all. You are all like family to me.
most of us regulars aren't
thats because I'm way too fucking handsome to be creepy.
That is racist against us uglies.
Is there room to screw around in silent parts of the songs?
Yeah, but leave some room between the singing and when you screw around so you don't get your singing mixed in with your dicking. I will of course just cut it out. [editline]29th September 2012[/editline] Also, I will time and chop up the audio, removing your nasty sounding inhales from the depths of nerd hell. So as long as you start and stop singing at the same length of time and in the same pace, being a bit offsynced is nothing to worry about.
how many bapiraps are there in the last part of danshi i keep messing up
how many bapiraps are there in the last part of danshi i keep messing up
They start singing the last line at 3:59.
how many bapiraps are there in the last part of danshi i keep messing up
A handy tip is to keep a window with the lyrics open next to the song when you sing. The last part would go something like,
ba ba ba ba ri ra ri ra ba ba ra ba ba ba ba ri ra ri ra ba ba ba ba ba ri ra ri ra ba ba ba ba ba ba ba ba ba
I'd swap the Rs with Ls just to make sure nobody fucks up etc
