Same, actually. The fact they've made so much progress through just in the first couple episodes is kind of encouraging. If they'd dragged out these stories longer, it wouldn't have left any space for whatever the real story's going to be.
Katanagatari episode 4 [sp]Insect Squad ;-; The "I'm getting married" card was played and it was good. I do like when villains are actually likable. I was rooting for them a little but they wouldn't have won, considering who they were fighting. Good that they weren't just some bland characters to be used as plot devices though. Sigh. Insect babies.
At the end it was almost as if they were sick of just cutting out big parts of battles, in order to avoid explination, so they just went ahead cut out the whole thing instead. Their enemy was even foreshadowed a little in a previous episode. Not like they thought they got away with it though, talking for like 5 minutes about how amazing the battle was, rubbing it in the viewer's face.[/sp]

I don't think they sang Fuwa Fuwa time even once. They sang Curry Nochi Rice a few times, U&I once and Tenshi ni Fureta yo! once. There were one or two new songs I think but idk their names.

Episode was good enough overall to make up for it, and the battles usually aren't all that flashy anyway. If they'd actually animated the battle, it wouldn't have been all that they said, so not a huge loss. They couldn't have made the joke if they didn't skip a battle. No bad feels.
