All the people I know in real life that watch anime only watch crap like Naruto, Bleach, and Fairy Tail.
Except for this one fatass who's addicted to ecchi. And this gigantic black guy who has the voice of a ten-year-old. He's more interested in stuff like Zero no Tsukaima and Shakugan no Shana.
I'm glad I'm leaving high school japanese. Class was full of girls that only watched Naruto and Bleach and discussed how amazing it was. What was worse was that I had to sit next to them.
I've never seen a weeaboo in all my years of school.

What is SAO and why is /a/ going crazy over it?
What is SAO and why is /a/ going crazy over it?
From what I understand, the most hyped anime this season, but it's getting progressively more terrible with each episode.
What is SAO and why is /a/ going crazy over it?
The first episode showed a lot of potential but most people were disappointed when they watched episode 2 and 3

DARKNESS: the anime.
Having seen the first three episodes of SAO, I don't think it's outright bad by any means.
I don't remember it being so immensely hyped before its airing, so I don't see why people are making such a big deal out of the fact that it's not a glorious masterpiece.
The premise or writing themselves aren't particularly remarkable, but it's fairly well executed so far and the music is good.
Though I guess it helps that I hear the complaints about every episode before I watch it.
Speaking of hype, what's the deal with the popularity of Mahou Shoujo Madoka? The series was good sure but (whole series spoilers)[sp]You didn't really get time to become attached to the characters as most of them died or weren't really well developed[/sp]
Do you guys watch anime with others?
I only have four friends that watch anime, one only watches to fawn over "the kawaii girls", two only watch ecchi series and then brag about all the weird anime they've watched, and one doesn't speak much so watching with him would be pretty much the same as watching alone. I mostly give them recommendations, then they discuss them with me later
I only have one friend who watches anime frequently. 80% of the stuff he watches were recommended from me though.
Otherwise the other people I know who watch anime are light watchers (Watch stuff like Death Note, One Piece or some shit) or weeaboos.

[sp]I liked it a lot, mostly for the fight scenes, the plot twists(episode 11), and because I originally thought, as I'm sure many have, that it would be just another stereotypical magical girl anime with fluffy clouds and rainbows and unicorns. I'm surprised and pleased by what we got in the end. Also, Homura is fuckin' awesome, especially during her fight against Walpurgis Night.[/sp]

People are pissed off about the anime because it fails to explain simple things like the health system and etc, the novel is a lot more detailed but not so much that it would be impossible to explain in the anime.
Plus, Kirito has more mood swings then a pregnant woman, it's like the writer didn't have an idea about what kind of character he wanted so he just went with it.
[sp]He constantly refers to himself as a solo player, then he goes and joins a guild. And don't mention the love interest thing as a reason because that was extremely tacky. Also the whole part after Sachi died was a real tearjerker /sarcasm.[/sp]
Spoiler that woman part, goddamn I just started reading the novels.
Spoiler that woman part, goddamn I just started reading the novels.
What woman part, every other spoiler was in spoiler tags
Yeah okay, just rate me dumb instead of telling me because I seriously don't know, besides the things that happened in the last 2 episodes of SOA don't even happen in the main novel.
Some animes I watch with my friend Ian over skype. It can be quite funny. We watched the dub Cardcaptors and we make fun of the episode where Sakura thinks to herself when Eriol comes into class, "He seems nice." and he proceeds to give her a rape face.
We started watching Mushishi but I guess we been busy with other things like Borderlands to watch it often.
Do you guys watch anime with others?
Sadly, everyone I know who watches anime, are typically just watching the big 3. The very few people I've met who watch other stuff are borderline crazies.

Also /a/ is going crazy over SAO because it's taking the same path as Guilty Crown
Do you guys watch anime with others?
Got lots of irl friends who at least have been watching decent stuff. 4-5 have seen stuff like Death Note, Clannad, Cowboy bebop, Higurashi, Steins;Gate ect.
I remember we were watching Clannad at friends, drunk and tired. Sunohara and other comedy made us laugh like hell. It was great.
I just asked a friend what anime he watches and it seems he mostly spends his time watching yaoi and yuri shit.(I can't believe this guy is not for gay rights)
I can't get my friends into anime. I have one friend that pretty much likes FLCL and refuses to watch about anything else.
I have another that I'm not closer to, but I suggested him Neon Genesis Evangelion and he's in love with it. Its nice to have friends that can get into your similar interest.
Also, I started The 08th MS Team because I haven't seen it before. Cool so far.
