Not that I don't like Hidamari Stretch, it just has no plot so there really isn't a reason you couldn't watch seasons out of order.

obviously you need to learn about the characters for 3 seasons until you can unlock the 4th season.
The episodes in Hidamari Sketch aren't in chronological order anyway.

Technically you're both correct. Seasons 1 and 2 take place during Yuno's first year, but the episode order is not chronological and therefore they skip all over the place throughout that first year. Season 3 then takes place during her second year, so it is chronologically after the first two seasons.
That said my previous point still stands since there's no real plot and therefore no vital information to be skipped by not watching some episodes.

The OVA I really liked. Action packed, a little weird towards the end of it, but very enjoyable.

I enjoyed it. Mostly because I am a large fan of pop culture and it was pretty much just that, but anime pop culture. It's the same reason I laugh at a lot of other Slice of Life shows similar to it.
