Even if I was from Russia I would have because that is just ignorant to think America is a continent, that's like me saying the Europe is just the United Kingdom.
imo, America is associated with USA(the country territory), because it's in North America. And it's easier to say 'America' than 'USA'. United States of America? Meh, just America - close enough and everyone understands.
And it's easier to say 'America' than 'USA'. .
USA has less syllables v:v:v
I hate it when people say they hate America. I don't really like America that much, and sure it has it's many flaws, but at least there isn't a conflict going on in my front yard, and I can feel safe. For now at least.
Wrong, North America is a continent.(which includes 23 different countries The United States being only one) Where the fuck did you go to school? You are from the US and you don't know that wow just...wow. I really hope you don't think that North America and South America is just one Continent of America..
I meant to say two continents. I made a mistake but my point should still be obvious. As for my education, I'm a graduate student at a respected university. I can assure you I am more thoughtful and objective than the vast majority of "Americans", but am still capable of making small typos. You on the other hand seem to have only a basic grasp on grammar. [editline]23rd October 2013[/editline] http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_%28word%29#Alternative_adjectives_for_U.S._citizens
In modern English, "Americans" generally refers to residents of the United States, and among native speakers of English this usage is almost universal, with any other use of the term requiring specification of the subject under discussion.[1] However, this ambiguity has been the source of controversy, particularly among Latin Americans, who feel that using the term solely for the United States misappropriates it.[2][3]

But the use of americano to refer exclusively to inhabitants of the United States should be avoided; this abusive usage is explained by the fact that U.S. citizens often use the abbreviated name América (in English, without an accent) to refer to their country. One should not forget that América is the name of the entire continent and all who inhabit it are americanos.
Im glad Im not the only one allergic to bullshit.
My Nominees: Israel. It is like a Western version of Iran but worse because Israel doesn't know when to shut up and will probably try something stupid in the coming years. The whole country could sink into the Ocean and the world would probably be better off. Also, I dislike Poland for personal reasons. I make it a point in every Paradox game to invade them. Russia is just kind of shitty. Also, I hate how all the good mods for Total War and Mount and Blade games end up being made by Russians and get hosted on shitty hosting sites that trickle in at kilobytes and probably have more viruses than the average Moscow hooker. I would say Pakistan but it is hardly a country, more like a loose collection of warlords. We spend a lot of time laughing at North Korea but conditions there are absolutely abhorrent. It is a wonder that the US didn't try harder to destroy them during the War, but I am sure there were (mostly political) reasons. Liberia is a little known mess of a state on the Gold Coast of Africa. It is dirt poor and filled with marauding warlords who have had the sensibility to forge a temporary peace, although violence tends to flare up. Somalia. I don't have to explain why. The Winner: Israel by a narrow margin. I chose them not because they are the worst off, but because they have the power to make so much improvement and choose not too. Also, can we please stop de-railing the thread debating the nomenclature of American citizens and whether or not this place as a whole is called "America". While it is true that America (more specifically, North America) is the name of a continent, the term is so far ingrained into the vocabulary of the USA that there is no way you could ever remove it. However, if you really want to be politically correct, the proper term for a US citizen is, I believe, Statesman.
St Vincent and the Grenadines. Just look at this breakdown of their exports. [t]http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/0/03/St._Vincent_and_the_Grenadines_Export_Treemap.png[/t] Inflatable Pleasure Craft! Come on now.
Spain, hate being associated to it. It's people are horrible, especially if you're from a Basque family, then you'll really see a bad side of Spain. It's government, don't need to go there, it's pretty much a joke. Going back to the people part, there are a few people from Spain that I know that're nice, the rest are pricks basically. As bad as the US can be, if you ever saw Spain, you'd really see a shitty country. My family being from there, the stories they always tell is basically that their life there was absolutely a pain, having to hold a lot of jobs and barely getting sleep to make money to barely feed the family. Living out in the country, where you had to rely on a farm to put dinner on the table, not the local market where nothing is checked for anything that'd make you sick/harm you.
North Korea - I think everyone knows why Iran - Fascist theocracy anyone? Somalia - extreme poverty, basically a war zone, no real governance Pakistan - Also pretty much a loosely held together war zone. Haiti - extreme poverty Ethiopia - same After those it's just a great variety of dictatorships and third world hellholes. These are the ones that specifically come to mind.
Empirically Somalia. Subjectively Norkorea. [editline]23rd October 2013[/editline]
;42626822']North Korea - I think everyone knows why Iran - Fascist theocracy anyone? I would struggle to put them even close to China or whatnot authoritarian wise.
the UK is the worst thing in existence, the only good thing about it is that it gave birth to the greatest country in the world - the USA.

Israel.
France. Although all joking aside, the four years I spent in Afghanistan helped to teach me that Afghanistan is a backwater shithole country and I'm better off practically anywhere outside of Afghanistan.
Denmark
Chad. I knew a kid named Chad in highschool and he was a dick. Country probs sucks too
south sudan its only like what 2 years old???
Serbia. Kids commit suicide, government is full of dipshit dumb asshole cowherds, 15 year olds look like they're 30, 9 year olds have abs (is that even fucking possible?), school system is the FUCKING worst, homophobic, 99.999% of the citizens are obsessed with the same singer and tennis player, you aren't allowed to have your own taste, if you think different they'll beat you up and brake your spine. It IS a pretty awesome country for tourists. But seriously, don't live here, maybe for a month, but not more. Yugoslavia... now THAT was a country!
;42626916']Any country wear converting and being gay both earn you a death sentence for blasphemy is fascist in my book. They do well with public image, but the religious law and such is still there.
Your definition of fascism is wrong, though, if you consider that fascist. Also, Iran's religious minorities are treated far better than most other places in the region and are even given government protection in many cases, not that they need it as they're generally well-accepted. Also religious law is nearly incompatible with fascism. Despotism, authoritarianism, dictatorship, sure, but I'd be hard pressed to say that Iran is as much a dictator as Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan, or Saddam's Iraq.
Pakistan is no longer even worth considering as a country given that the terrorists and extremists have pretty much started running the show out there along with the army and intelligence agencies. It's a time bomb, more than anything else. And this is why poverty is dangerous. Poverty and people with too much charisma, who misuse it to serve their own ends. People tend to do anything to fill their empty bellies, even turn to terrorism or crime to do so. In fact, the greatest problem ever to hit the world is The Belly, damn it. And India sucks, for all the above reasons and a few more I don't feel like mentioning. I might move to Switzerland or some such place once I've finished my education, anywhere but here sounds like a good idea.
Poland
Not that I hate it but I really dislike Denmark, its just so boring here.

Not my country, but this motherfucking goverment.
Even if I was from Russia I would have because that is just ignorant to think America is a continent, that's like me saying the Europe is just the United Kingdom.
I meant, to make a joke "lol american education, not knowing how their continent is called". Nothing offensive intended. I actually completely agree, people (not the first time I see someone getting pissed about that) make a fuss about "hey this country is not called America, don't skip most of it's name!", but it's completely okay to skip half the name of a continent.
ITT: 12 year olds hating countries based on what they know about them from internet communities
I find it hard to hate any country because they've all been personified into cute little spheres with eyes in my mind.
Somalia. Literally nothing about it is good and the bad things are truly horrible, especially the way they treat women and children.
United Arab Emirates I fucking hated living there
Afghanistan, and North Korea. North Korea is being a little brat, threatening to blow up the USA for no reason, but Afghanistan is actually doing it.
