If I never played Battlefield Vietnam I would've never gotten into classic rock, and I loved the live version of songs in the loading screens.

The entire series sans 4 is playable without a PS3 tho
I played MGS1 on PC, then emulated 2/3, and you could always emulate Peace Walker before playing GZ and TPP on PC.
And most of that was because I'm a lazy asshole who won't plug in my PS2

MGS2 is on PC too, that's why I only asked about MGS3.
speaking of emulation does anyone have any tips for ps2 emulation
my ps2 is busted so i can't play ffxii but i've been dyin to go through it again so i tried emulation but it never really runs smoothly
games on dolphin run with all the fancy graphical shit turned up max just fine but ps2 has all sorts of audio/video issues

The PS2 is just hard to emulate without a really great PC, and even then it'll stutter. It's just not as perfected as gamecube emulation.

It's still pretty intensive but it's far better than MGS2. MGS3 only really slows for me in cutscenes or when there's shit happening while MGS2 lags for no damn reason often.
Which is weird because it seems like MGS3 would be harder to run, what with grass and a forest and shit

Use DirectX 11 mode and some hacks in the default PCSX2 plugin is all I can really give you. PS2 emulation won't be really solid for a long while I feel.
I love being stuck in a minivan stuck in traffic with no water because people don't fucking know how to drive without crashing.
