Well. It's kind of a long explanation
but basically back in like idk beginning of june? the president of our organization said that she wanted robotics to be top priority when it came to staffing because it was a big hit this past year and we had big parental support and a big turnout at our events
but now apparently she's doing a total 180 and she says that she doesn't want us working throughout the first two months of the school year on robotics stuff because they're short staffed at regular sites. and the past two years that we've been forced to push our start date back have been disastrous and so this year we were happy that we were gonna be able to start right in august as she had promised we would
so now with this change, my director is extremely unhappy and told me today that she got another job offer and if they're dropping support of our NECESSARY prep time for the school year that she's just gonna leave. which I really REALLY don't blame her. they barely pay her enough as is so it's like yeah please go find something better. BUT if she goes, that means there's no robotics director and while I'd be the best candidate I don't have the degrees necessary to be able to actually take the position
which means the eventual disbanding of the robotics program entirely because apparently the state funding no longer requires it like it did the first two years so chances are without the proper director, it'll be dismantled entirely, reducing me back down to a regular job. but since i'd worked out a schedule agreement which let me work 3 days a week, 7 hours a day, I would've been fine balancing work and school. not so if i go back to the regular assisting job where i'll only be allowed to work 3.5 hours a day which will not make me enough to sustain me while also providing time for me to go to school
and so i'll pretty much be forced to leave
it's all a big "what if" right now but it's not looking good. not to mention the organization is losing some very important people to better opportunities because of lack of appropriate structure so it's like where does that leave me
idk i'm not super optimistic about it
