(And even if it puts me at odds with my friends.) And abrasive was actually probably the wrong word to use in my original post thinking on it. Blunt would be a lot more accurate.

Well it still is kind of in some ways, especially in some of the sub communities, but overall it's not so bad as things used to be back then.

Honestly if you actually care about peoples hateful opinions of you on an internet forum you need to lighten up and not listen to them unless you think the same of yourself and you want to improve. You can't let someone break you down, ESPECIALLY someone over a website. You can listen to what they say but don't do what a lot of people do (including me back on my original account) and rage and make it out to be that you're the victim.
