So I told the staff at my old college about how I'm quitting med to pursue a career in aviation.
And suddenly one of them got all pissy at me as if she was trying to make me feel bad. I mean yeah sure the chances of getting into med is like 1:15 and there were genuine people that could have taken my place, but hey, its my choice you know. They always go like "you're still young go do something else once you graduate", excyouuuuuuuuUUUUuuuuUUUUuuse me princess, I'm not made of money and there's no way I can afford like $200k for med school and another $200k for flight school.
In short, if you are genuinely frustrated I'm fine with that,
buy if you were genuinely trying to make me feel bad then:

Window units aren't sold in the Netherlands, because window sizes vary a lot here. Besides, I'd have a hard time sealing this window, since it's quite big.

Despite the distance, you can clearly see there's a size difference between my window, and at the houses on the other side. I also want a fixed unit so I always have a unit to turn on when I come back. Last heat wave I had our portable unit set up in my bedroom, but I would often find out my brother took it (and I cannot blame him for it).
And as for recirculation, a split unit does take the present air in the room, yes but it does filter it.
