Just spent pretty much my entire day diagnosing computer issues.
Ran countless diagnostic tools via a DOS boot-cd throughout the day.
I thought I fixed a faulty hard-drive, which I thought I fixed, then the BIOS started fucking up.
Then I realized the hard-drive was probably never dying at all, just a few bad sectors.
I thought it must have been a faulty RAM chip.
It wasn't a faulty RAM chip.
Then I thought the motherboard was fucked.
I'm pretty sure the motherboard is not fucked.
And then I moved RAM around, and I'm pretty sure it all boils down to a faulty RAM DIMM.
I'm so tired right now, and I think I've fixed it, but it's been such a horrible pain in the ass.I'm not sure whether to be relieved that it's (probably) fixed, maybe even joyful that it's (probably) fixed, or should I be completely pissed off that I just spent my whole fucking day on this stupid fucking shit?
I guess it's all of the above.
So I'm gonna calm down now.
edit: wow, i think it just froze during an OS install. i guess it's time to flip shit & shoot myself in the brain.
