it is necessary because 1)It was cold and that mask keeps my whole head warm and 2)Since I was sitting on the ground, eye level with the deer, I needed all the camo I could get. I did a 6 miles run with a friend (it was extremely hilly), feel pretty refreshed now.

It doesn't really affect it much. Weight training doesn't really leave you breathless like cardio can so you don't need to be in great shape to lift weights. I know someone who's 17 stone of muscle and he hasn't ran a mile in his life, ever.
Besides, I've been smoking for 2 years now and I can still do 30 minutes of running and 15 minutes of rowing without getting out of breath. So it's not as detremental to your health as you may think, its terrible for you but those symptoms take years to arise, I'm not defending smoking, just saying it from my personal experience. I plan on quitting soon though.
Don't start smoking though, it's not worth it.

Indeed, but at the moment I have no intention to. It's nowhere near as easy as just not having another cigarette, the fact that most of my friends smoke doesn't help matters. The new smoking laws mean that I'd either have to stay inside on my own whilst everyone went for a cigarette which would get annoying or I'd join them outside and be tempted to ask for a cigarette.
I'm glad there's a clampdown on smoking, I don't want to be smoking forever and I won't be, I just don't have any plans to quit right now.
