I think it was dumb, as stated previously, there are too many golds now, and it doesn't really make it special. There should be some other requirements, like being a remotely decent poster, instead of any other moron that signed up a couple years back and posted frequently.
Gold member is worthless now, Respected is where it's at.
Gold Member used to be something rare that I wanted to have, but now since there's just about more Gold Members than standard users I find being a standard user rare.
It's not as special by any means now.
It's okay.

But, yes, I do believe that the restrictions could have been a little more... Strict.
